Potentially welcome news for UK sports fans: the BT Sport app has hit PlayStation 4. As you'd expect, the app allows subscribers to watch all kinds of stuff, and includes a bunch of channels: BT Sport 1, 2, and 3, ESPN, Boxnation, and all of the BT Sport Extra channels. Not a bad selection.
If you're already a BT Sport subscriber, you can sign into this app on your PS4 and you're good to go. If not, you can pay £10 a month if you're already on BT Broadband. Don't have BT Broadband? Then you're looking at a hefty £29.99 a month. Still, if you're a big sports fan and you know you'd get a lot of use out of the app, then it's always an option, no strings attached.
Of course, the app arrives at quite the opportune time: the Champions League final (that's football, for the uneducated) between Tottenham Hotspur FC and Liverpool FC is happening tomorrow.
On that note, it's worth mentioning that you can also watch the final live totally free on BT Sport's official YouTube channel. Maybe just hit up the YouTube app on PS4 instead?
Anyway, are you interested? Add yet another app to your PS4's main menu in the comments section below.

I already have the sports channels but I think it's pretty cool that BT is showing the final for free to everyone.
Come on Liverpool!
Bt app...meh but dear God please let spurs win this
@Deljo COYS!
@get2sammyb
Nice one. Always wondered why this was never on PS4.
I actually used the app on Xbox quite a bit for the champions league as I was paying for BT broadband at my dad's whereas I didn't have sky or anything else at mine, so it was a decent way to watch some of the games.
Good that they're finally adding an option to just get BT Sport without having to have their broadband, Sky or Virgin. That said, £30 a month is pretty pricey for what you get.
Also worth mentioning actually but they were talking about having HDR on the Xbox version of the app, so presumably that's gonna be the case here too?
Football already looks really good in 4K, adding HDR to it could be great.
@get2sammyb
@get2sammyb My respect for you has disappeared. We need a Liverpool title as Tottenham winning anything gives me nightmares. COYI⚒⚒⚒
All I have to say about this news is..............COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, please, please. 28 years of pain, torture, frustration can be forgiven with just 90 minutes of brilliance. I beg you.
I'm pretty sure this app has been available for months now. I'm amazed there still hasn't been an ITV app.
@Deljo dunno what you mean about meh. It's infinitely better than sky's.
BT have done a terrific job with their apps.
I will be watching it on the YouTube app and hoping Liverpool win.
YouTube for me but I really wish I was in Madrid. One thing is certain, the atmosphere will be miles better than the one in Baku.
CL final is on Virgin Media channel 100 for free aswell!
Also £29.99. A month! I was interested when i read the headline as i miss BT sport, and my team is in the National league which is exclusively shown on BT Sport. But no way will i pay that.
it's on the official playstation europe youtube channel as well. i'll not be watching it though.. but hoping that spurs win. i used to like klopp, but he's become insufferable as liverpool boss.
I want to see the final in VR.
Also I wanna see you guys cry after seeing Liverpool winning this year, just 1 year after you guys were happy and sure they would lose
If you have Virgin Media, it's free on channel 100.
Come on Liverpool! #NorthLondonIsRed
Wow it's like the XB1 E3 reveal all over again...
Will be watching on YouTube on my PS4 and will try not to cry in front of my son if Liverpool lose again.
Come on Liverpool!
If Spurs win that means no parade tomorrow here in Liverpool. No parade means town won't be full of knobheads, and no knobheads means I can go for a nice roast dinner.
For the love of God, please let spurs win this. Love a nice roast dinner, me.
@Johnnycide The single greatest, most logical reason to support one team over another.
So, best of luck to Spurs, then.
@RogerRoger bugger.
Guess I'll have to go to a better restaurant.
I was at the parade and it was absolutely brilliant! It was like a second red River Mersey along The Strand.
Dunno why all LFC fans get such a bad rep, best supporters in the country, in my opinion.
