Yakuza Ps4 Ichiban Kasuga

SEGA has confirmed that there's a new Yakuza game in the works for PlayStation 4. It doesn't have an official title right now, but the project will star new character Ichiban Kasuga. Supposedly, the story of Kazuma Kiryu comes to an end with Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, so it's time for a change.

Those who have been keeping up may recognise Kasuga -- he appeared in Yakuza Online, a mobile title available only in Japan. All we really know about him is that he's a lower ranking member of the Tojo clan, and that he's got a big of a troubled past. Hopefully he ends up being as good a character as old man Kaz.

It's also been announced that Kasuga will have a female partner. SEGA's actually holding auditions for her in Japan, and is currently asking for actresses aged 20 and up. The chosen actress will obviously star alongside Kasuga in the game, and they'll get 1 million yen in prize money. Interesting.

There's no time frame on when this new Yakuza title might launch, but knowing how regularly these games come out in Japan, we're going to bet that it's either near the end of the year, or in 2020.

Of course, we're still waiting for Judgment over here in the West -- something of a Yakuza spin-off -- but that's having its own problems right now...
