Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice How to Kill Emma the Gentle Blade Boss Guide PS4 PlayStation 4

How do you kill Emma, the Gentle Blade in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice? Late in the game, you'll have to make a big choice that sends the various endings off in different directions, and you may end up fighting Emma. The doctor who helped you for so long now stands as your foe, but fortunately for you, she's not particularly difficult to defeat.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - How to beat Emma, the Gentle Blade

Despite her name, Emma is a pretty aggressive adversary. She has lots of quick attacks that have a big range on them, although her move set doesn't contain anything too outlandish. She also only has one health bar, making her the weakest boss aside from the Folding Screen Monkeys.

There aren't too many strategies to talk about here; you can parry her sword swings, but be wary of her unblockable moves, including a forward thrust that can reach extremely far. If you have access to the Shadowrush Combat Art, now would be a good time to use it. Wait for one of her attacks to wind down, then use this special move to deal some big damage.

If you're having trouble dodging or deflecting her attacks, we'd recommend bringing the Loaded Umbrella and Mist Raven Prosthetic Tools into battle to make evasion that little bit easier. As you only have to fill her posture bar once, this boss is over pretty quickly.

Normally, defeating a boss rewards you with XP and a Memory, but beating Emma leaves you empty handed.
