It may not have been perfect, but Furi is an indie game that's certainly stuck with us. The unique visual style and the amazing soundtrack created a memorable experience, and now, developer The Game Bakers is back with its next project.
Haven immediately hits with a strong pitch accompanied by a the lovely little trailer that we've embedded above. The game follows two lovers who escaped to a lost planet. It's described as a role-playing game, and it can be experienced either alone or with "a special someone". In other words it supports co-op, but you might end up snogging your mate.
As expected of the studio behind Furi, it also sounds like the music is going to be great. The track included in the trailer is by electronic artist Danger, who previously contributed to Furi.
Has Haven caught your eye? Don't get too soppy in the comments section below.

This looks very cool.
Online or local co-op? I really feel like the answer to this question should be standard in any article about multiplayer.
Edit: Even if the answer is just "We don't know yet."
when i briefly glanced at the headline thought it was going to be a remake or remaster of the PS2 game Haven Call of the King. That seems like a genre that has died from ps2 era the cartoony action platformers stuff like Kya, Haven and Legend of Kay.
@NoxAeturnus We don't know yet. Game doesn't have a release window either, so plenty of time to make that information clear, no rush.
Interesting! Furi was great, so this has my attention.
@ShogunRok Too soon, that's fine.
I just feel like it's disappointing to read about a cool multiplayer game (especially co-op)...only to find out later that the multiplayer is online only. Even reviews sometimes don't bother making a distinction, and it's kind of important for some people. It's also a reason why the "Best co-op games on PS4" article that resurfaces from time to time on Push Square is so disappointing to me personally. There's not enough local co-op on Playstation. My wife and I like to play games together, and we really can't afford nor have the space for two setups. Thank goodness for games like Divinity 2.
@NoxAeturnus That's fair enough, definitely something that could be made clearer. Feedback noted!
Furi was cool but i couldnt get past the 3rd boss i think it was.
@ShogunRok Thanks, it's only a minor quibble. I hope I didn't come off as too aggressive, attacking you or the article. In fact, thanks for bringing this game to my attention because I love Furi's art style. I'm more frustrated with Sony and their lack of solid local co-op than anything. But hey, that's a major reason I own a Switch, and indies have been filling the gap on that front for a while too. So it goes.
Furi was rather brilliant for so many reasons, so I definitely have my eye on this one.
Ooh this looks really interesting. Very excited to find out more.
Furi was really cool so I'll keep an eye on this. However aside from the art style, it looks like it might be fairly different.
Sounds like Fury? Check.
Janky animations like Fury? Check.
No idea what's going on, just like Fury? Check.
That means I'll probably get it!
Can you pick a different character? Or are you forced to play as weeb Akbar?
Meh. Pass on this one.
