Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (PS4)

A superb remaster of a PS2 classic, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is one of the PS4's best. Square Enix did a fantastic job with this one, heightening texture quality and breathing so much new life into the world of Ivalice. It even balanced certain gameplay aspects for the better, and the refreshed job system is nothing short of genius. A must for fans of grand adventures and engrossing fantasy worlds.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled (PS4)

Beenox pulled out all the stops for its remake of the beloved PSone kart racer Crash Team Racing. This is right up there with the N. Sane Trilogy and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy as a top drawer reimagining from Activision. It looks and sounds stunning, with all manner of new details adorning the tracks and updated yet faithful music. With online play and an array of customisation options thrown into the mix, this is a nostalgic treat that's had a modern shot in the arm.

Ratchet & Clank (PS4)

Remember when you saw Toy Story and wondered “when will video games look this good?” You can stop wondering, because Ratchet and Clank is not only one of the best looking titles on PS4, but also one of the finest action platformers. The dialogue is laugh-out-loud funny at times, and the whole thing is tied together with so much charm that it’s difficult not to love the furry protagonist and his little robot buddy.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy (PS4)

After the success of the Crash remaster, it’s perhaps no surprise that Spyro followed. The diminutive dragon, his friends, and his enemies have never looked better, particularly on PS4 Pro. Small details like being able to see the very embers of your fire, or each dragon receiving unique voice acting go a long way to improving what was already a fondly remembered PSone trilogy.

Resident Evil 3 (PS4)

The remake of Resident Evil 3 follows in the footsteps of Resi 2, releasing just over a year later. Nemesis makes a grand return, and Jill Valentine's story is retold in the superb RE Engine. The game itself isn't quite in the same league as its predecessor, but it's another stunning remake from Capcom.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (PS4)

PlayStation’s most likeable mascot’s first three adventures are still incredible fun to play through, even over a decade on from his introduction. A thrill-ride of pure spectacle with a healthy dose of character, if you’ve never played Uncharted before, you’ll be mesmerised by top notch set pieces, such as the now iconic train ride from Uncharted 2, or the treacherous cargo plane from Uncharted 3.
