inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4)

inFAMOUS: Second Son (and its spin-off sister, inFAMOUS: First Light) feature outstanding particle effects as Delsin and Fetch traverse Seattle with their superpowers. The game is gorgeous on a regular PS4, but once the rain starts to fall in 4K you’ll never look back. Another must for photo mode.

Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4)

One of the best games of 2018, and arguably one of the best this generation, Marvel's Spider-Man deserves
to be played on a PlayStation 4 Pro. Its Manhattan is already full of rich detail, playing in 4K makes
the game truly amazing. From the crinkles in Spidey’s suit, to Peter Parker and co’s facial
expressions, it’s easily the best way to play.

Monster Hunter: World (PS4)

Arguably the sleeper hit of 2018, Monster Hunter: World offers options for a higher frame rate on
PlayStation 4 Pro, or improved resolution. Opting for the latter makes an already pretty game even
prettier, but the former is perfect for honing your skills for World’s tougher encounters. The game’s
lush areas are practically begging to be played on the Pro, it would be rude not to oblige.

Ratchet & Clank (PS4)

There was a time where Pixar was the pinnacle of animation, and the gaming world dreamt of Toy Story-calibre graphics. Dream no more, as Insomniac’s reboot of its PS2 title is fluid, colourful, and has some of the smartest writing this generation. As a former Playstation Plus title, you may even find this in your library!

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)

A game that spent eight years (eight!) in development is always likely to at least look good,
and Red Dead Redemption 2 is easily one of the best looking games on consoles today. From the scenery, to the
characters, to the horse testicles, no detail has been overlooked. It also helps that the 70-plus hour
story is one of modern gaming's finest, and that’s to say nothing of the life-consuming online mode.

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

The PlayStation 3’s swan song being one of PlayStation 4 Pro's greatest showpieces is a
testament to what Naughty Dog created. A harrowing tale bought into a new console generation
with an excellent DLC chapter to boot, The Last Of Us is a breathtaking look at a world that has
caved in on itself.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)

Remaking such an iconic title from the PlayStation 2 era would be a hard sell for many studios, but
Bluepoint’s latest may be their finest work yet. Offering both higher frame rate and higher
resolution options, Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4 Pro is beautiful either way. Its world
feels eerily empty by modern standards, but its essence remains.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4)

Even on a launch PS4, The Witcher 3’s open world, characters, and monsters look impressive. PS4 Pro gives the entire game a shift towards either performance or resolution, based on the option you choose. It also features HDR to really make those spell effects pop. If you haven’t played Wild Hunt, regardless of whether you have a Pro or not, you really should.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4)

If you’ve got a PlayStation 4, there is a very good chance you’ve played Uncharted 4. You may have even finished it, and why wouldn’t you? Drake’s latest outing is exceptional. Playing it on PS4 Pro brings out even more of a cinematic feel, upping the resolution to capture all the small details like stitches in clothing or wrinkles on faces. It’s worth revisiting if only for photo mode.
