Resident Evil 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 Sales 1

Resident Evil 2’s excellent PlayStation 4 remake has shipped three million units worldwide, meaning that it’s already closing in on the 1998 original’s cumulative sales of 4.96 million units. Shipment figures aren’t necessarily representative of stock sold through to consumers, but given the survival horror’s performance in the UK so far, it’s safe to assume that the discs aren’t simply sitting in stock rooms.

The publisher said: “With Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (released in January 2017) having now gone on to sell a cumulative six million units, Capcom looks to achieve similar, long-term sales for Resident Evil 2 as well.” With a batch of free DLC already on the horizon, and seriously strong word of mouth surrounding it, we reckon that the company will have no problem keeping this title in the charts all year long.
