Following all the positive press surrounding the brilliant remake of Resident Evil 2, news has broken out regarding a Netflix Original Series adaptation of the franchise. The website Deadline reports that the company is currently working on an original Resident Evil show alongside the German production company, Constantin Film, which is also responsible for the movies.

"The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus," claims the site. Apparently, the series will feature all the "signature elements" of the franchise, including action sequences and easter eggs.

There's not much more information to go on at the moment. However, a Netflix series on Resident Evil is definitely possible; the company has shown clear interest in adapting video games into series, with its animated Castlevania show and the upcoming Witcher series.
