And just like that, the Days Gone marketing machine has snapped into life. Sony’s released the first of a series of Rockstar-esque overview trailers, with this initial instalment exploring the open world. The clip showcases the various districts you’ll encounter in the game, from dense forests to icy rivers and everything in between. From a pure visuals perspective, it’s stunning.
The video also talks about mass burial zones, where corpses are clumped together and highly volatile. You’ll obviously be able to navigate the world both by foot and on your bike, which is a neat novelty that gives the whole thing a bit of its own identity. It’s basically Sons of Anarchy crossed with The Walking Dead, which should prove a slam-dunk for the platform holder’s marketing department.

This is looking real good now. Visuals are impressive.
Yeah, it certainly seems to have improved. Looking forward to the other trailers.
Endure and survive.
Enduro and survive.
Hype machine engage.
Daaaaaamn, this game now looks way more polished now compared to the early demos they've shown,
I've been so hyped for this game for so long. But anyone else noticing the graphical hiccups with the freakers stuttering into each other and the shadows popping in? How does that make it into a trailer?
@LegendOfStewart Didn't see anything game breaking, stuttering must be due to collision and I barely noticed any shadow pop-ins
Note to self...trunks (boots) contain jump scares.
Ride to Hell: Retribution 2 is looking like a big step up over the original. This trailer looks a lot game-ier than previous ones did, which is a good thing.
They need a better narrator, though. Dude sounds bored. I can almost picture him cradling his chin in his open palm as he reads this.
And just like that, Sony's 2019 exclusives offensive has begun.
I remember being quite impressed when Days Gone was first revealed way back when, the hype kinda died down since then.
This looks awesome, now I'm looking forward to more trailers again.
This should put paid to the 'The Last of Us Junior' speculation.
Just hoping it's a hit and Sony doesn't ruin their track record [Uncharted4, Horizon, God of War, Spiderman] like Bethesda with Fallout76. Open World's the best!
Looks great. It's awesome to see how much time they've put into making this the best it could be
@get2sammyb yes it does look stunning to me.. this game is one of my most anticipated games beside Resident Evil 2, DMC 5, Mortal Kombat 11
Looks great, especially the lighting and weather effects. This kind of gives me Left 4 Dead vibes (albeit 3rd person). Can't wait for April!
All the on screen freaker AIs still leaves me concerned about the puny CPU in the PS4 but that trailer does look good. Open world zombie biker game..yep that will do.
Wow now it looks really good compared to previews on game informer, can't wait to play it
So refreshing to read the comments on this site vs, say IGN. I actually think the game looks very nice as well. Some of the locations are drop-dead (pun intended) gorgeous!! I am just hoping that it doesn't play TOO much like State of Emergency where you are always so overwhelmed with masses and masses of enemies that you can't stop to look around and enjoy the scenery every now and then. This trailer does give you the feeling that there may be a few of these opportunities. Time will tell.
Sony does not publish crap. Its been years now of games near perfection.
I'm gonna watch this on my laptop later, it's nice that they are releasing new trailers now especially when there is new areas too.
Looks mighty fine! On me buy list for 2019!!!!
@MDHegs
Forget IGN comments. It's like a horde of freakers jumping on PlayStation articles. I understood that long before Days Gone was even a thing.
I hope there s photo mode in the game.
Meanwhile Crackdown 3 is out in less than a month...
😂
"Sons of Anarchy crossed with The Walking Dead"
I remember thinking this in the early days, years ago, but now I'm thinking give me a horse, a sword, a Jon Snow skin, turn all the zombies into whitewalkers, boom GoT: season 8, the game. Though on second thought, make it Uncle Benjen, seasons 2-6.
The trailer is good. I don't like zombies and open world for open world sake is a bit much for me, dont' see much story here I haven't already played in H:ZD, but I'd probably play it on PS5 when it comes to PS+. If the reviews are any good.
It looks impressive,
Days Gone is day one for me already.
@rjejr
Haha you know nothing Deacon st John Snow..
Apart from that I struggle to see the similarity.
For story, maybe wait for story trailer hey?
It is starting to look pretty ace isn't it? It had kind of slipped off my radar, but now it's slowly shuffling back on
Oh my god, looks so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO HYPEEEDD!
Seen a few people mention IGN, you should never ever, I mean ever go to IGN, its a cess pool in the coment section for anything.
Frame rate is looking buttery smooth now as well, great job Bend!
@lixei32 Exactly. I never had any doubt that this wouldn't be a good game, I just thought that the zombies tropes made it seem a little generic, but it's looking amazing now.
Not that I needed any more convincing but oh man, that trailer just got me so hyped, it looks absolutely gorgeous.
April still feels so far away, I can't wait to get my hands on this and play baby.
I guess I'm not seeing what others are seeing. I hope the game is a success, and I hope those who are excited about the game enjoy it, but for me personally, I'm not seeing anything to get me hyped.
@JJ2 I'd say ignore IGN in general, although I have a bad habit of visiting the website every single day. One of my biggest issues with IGN is how they constantly repost the same articles/reviews. I understand they need clicks and what-not, but it gets old. They also do the "Best Horror Movies on Netflix For ..." so and so month, and the list never really changes. Lol. They may add one new title, but it's just all about clicks for them on that website. With all of that being said, they do have some great reviewers that I trust quite a bit (Vince, for one).
It sure does look purdy.
@Nerdfather1
OK I honestly have no idea what it's like now. Last time I went there was years ago and had the feeling the staff wasn't that great. Between the guy who had no idea what Until Dawn (before it came out) was and the moderator trying to convince everyone that Sony was about to do the same thing as Ms at E3 2013 about drm and changed their mind at the last minute bs. Also Dan Stapleton whining about Bloodborne being too hard and so on.
Hopefully it's better now but got the feeling it's a waste of time especially on mobile with all the data
the game looks amazing.my most hyped ps3 games this year.word up son
@playstation1995 you mean ps4 game.
@Jay767 haha yeah.i was talking to my girlfriend so I was typing fast.haha .word up son
@ResidentEvil2 days gone is my most hyped games .sekiro shadow die twice.word up son
Just can't really get hyped for this one. Bring on TLoU2.
@AyanamiReign just buy and play both games both games look great we don’t even know when last of us 2 is coming out. it might get push back to early 2020 for all we know so days gone can hold you off until last of us 2 come out.
I've been waiting for this game since release ^_^
It would be nice for Sony to stop all new releases for 10-12 years so I can catch up with good games.
I'll wait on reviews but hoping it's as good as people here think it will be.
@LegendOfStewart Lord have mercy complaining about something
@Undead22 not complaining. Asking a question, and I literally said I’m hyped for the game. But troll on.
Wow this trailer definitely got me hyped again, looking forward to more coverage as the release date creeps up on us.
@LegendOfStewart troll on? Honey stop
