ANTHEM Gets 15 Minutes of Uninterrupted Early Mission Gameplay

I like the settings, but probably is not the best game to have a single-player experiece. Also I'm more interested in Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2 and Metro, all these games will be released near Anthem.

you know it looks good (as in graphics) but i'm still dubious because this is EA after all and i'm just afraid that they have a potentially great game but they will mess it up by filling it with loot boxes and Microtransactions

Played it Gunplay was awesome but god damn piloting that suit is a pain in the rear.

Cor i can smell the season pass from here ... Also the micro transactions and dlc after the season pass for another 20 or so.
They sound so posh i wonder if they refuel on caviar.

Warframe / Destiny / Grinding / Ironman / I believe fish can fly by R Kelly.

@Hapuc That was actually my favorite part of the game when I tried it. Piloting the suit was really fun. Everything else was....not...

Why would I even bother with another bland live service when Resident Evil 2 and Kingdom Hearts III come out around the same time?

It's awfully quite round hear... 3 seconds later bad guys appear. Looks beautiful graphically, but could it be any more by the numbers

@RBMango Dunno how was it fun you literally just move your mouse just a little bit the suit would spirals out of control and your movement is locked to your camera which makes it impossible to make any kind of shoots.

@Hapuc I should have clarified. Outside of combat, I liked how it had this ebb and flow where you have to balance the gliding and dipping into water to avoid overheating. It was a nice rhythm for me. I didn't have a problem with any spiraling out of control either. But when thrown into combat, it became a hassle (coupled with the insane lag) to get a read on where I wanted to go.

Looks like Warframe meets Destiny, but not as good as either. Getting less and less excited the more I see.

This just looks boring to me. Fly here. Kill these people. Fly somewhere else. Fix a radio signal. Kill the people there. It just seems very uninspired. Let's not pretend that this game is going to have deep quests with a good storyline, because it won't.

Looks decent enough, but it makes sense to just sit tight and wait a while before deciding because

a) we don't know the full MTX details yet
b) it'll be loads cheaper by April
c) it's EA.

Graphics looks great, Combat looks great, Story? Not seen much, if any at all which is what is scaring me the most.

I'm curious I just expect LB and MTs to be activated a month after launch like Black Ops 4

It looks a bit dull if I'm honest, either lots of flying around doing nothing in empty forests or some third person Destiny. Not a game I'm likely to buy

Can anyone that played the Alpha tell me if you need to be logged in to an EA account to play it? I can't log in to mine because I forgot the password and I can't choose "Forgot password" because that email address got deleted for lack of use.

I have contacted EA multiple times but they have been no help whatsoever. They basically said I was SOL. I asked them to unlink my PSN account and I would just start a new EA account but they said no. Supposedly once linked it can't be unlinked which I find hard to believe but whatever.

Long story short I'm afraid to buy ANTHEM if I can't even play it.

@Splat Can't remember the specifics of the alpha but I think it's highly likely that you'll need an EA account to get online.

@ShogunRok I can play both Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect Andromeda online without logging in to an EA account so it gives me hope but not sure about ANTHEM.

@BowTiesAreCool what else than MTX being only cosmetics do you still want to know?

I was pretty excited about this game after what was shown at E3. Now, the luster has already worn off and this gameplay makes it look...uninteresting?

With KH3/Metro Exodus/Resi2Remake to be released soon, I personally will not hype for this game especially when it is an always-online/live service game. Add in the potential addition of mtx & lootbox, it further lower my interest for this game.

The concept/game itself seems great but it does give me a feeling of deja vu as like Destiny 1 where initial reveal was generated great hype & all, but the game fell short after actual released. I might be wrong in term of Anthem but it really does give me this same feeling.

@FullbringIchigo @Luna-Harmony @BowTiesAreCool Bioware went on record several times stating that there will be no loot boxes in the game and no season pass. There will be MTX, but they will be cosmetic and you'll see what you'll buy beforehand, so: no rng and hoping for the stuff you want. All levels, weapons and expansions that may be released will be free for all olayers. The only exception may be that they may release additional javelins as DLC later on, but that's not decided yet.

This is basically destiny, and the voice over is so cringey. I'll be all over it if its "normal" single player action rpg like mass effect or at least open world like spider-man, because online only games: 99% probability the story will be near non existent like destiny.

@Reverend_Skeeve yes but your forgetting this is also EA, the same company that said they took all the feed back from Star Wars Battlefront and would give the fans what they want in Battlefront 2 and look how that turned out

they are also the same company that cancelled a single player focused Star Wars RPG because the lead didn't want to put in as EA called it "your version of FIFA Ultimate Team"

Bioware can say anything they want but as long as EA are pulling the reigns i will be EXTREMELY cautious about ANY game they release

@FullbringIchigo Sadly, you're absolutely right with everything you said. Still, the fact that Bioware spoke out so firmly against loot boxes and DLC scams leaves me at least moderately hopeful this game will not be a complete flustercuck, DLC-wise, because personally, I like what I've seen so far. I want this game to be good!

What EA did with everything Star Wars is nothing but a shame. "Single player gamed are dead!" Riiiight... 😂

@Reverend_Skeeve Great news i guess we all sit with high hopes to see what happens when the game comes out.

I don't mind the odd dlc add-on's like extension levels here and there but nothing worse than buying some dlc only to find it has no installing time because it's already on the disc or download.

Fingers crossed for bioware as they have made some greats games in the past i just hope the ea greedy factory doesn't take over.

Oufgh ... Starwars and Battlefield Badcompany 1 & 2 where so much fun and no one minded a little bit of dlc. Starwars so beautiful but so hideously expensive at the sametime.

hated both the flying and the shooting. aside from the cooldown annoyance which makes it more hassle than it's worth especially in combat, there's a weird graphical artifact where it looks like the scenery is being dragged towards you. aside from the go here, fight of waves of spawning enemies, move on.. it's not as much like destiny as people think it is, imo.

@Luna-Harmony @Reverend_Skeeve i'm fine with DLC as long as it's proper DLC that actually adds something to the game

on a side note sometimes DLC doesn't have a download time because the data was added via an update this is especially true with online games as the data would need to be on everybody's game in order for the online to function properly and for other peoples avatar to display properly in your game

@Splat - for the alpha you needed to be logged in from what i remember, but they were quite restrictive with access to it. my EA account for PC has a different username, but uses the same email address as my PSN account.. so both are linked together somehow. on PS3/4, it just connects as normal - on PC, i use the same email address, with a password (not the same as PSN one). it should let you create a new PC account without unlinking the PS4 one.

At the moment it just looks SO dull. The graphics are high quality but the environments are just so boring. Just looks like Destiny, Warframe and Titanfall were smashed into the same room. In a forest. It really pains me to be so uninterested in a BioWare game, but there it is.
