The Game Awards 2018: Mortal Kombat 11 Finishes Him on 23rd April

Mortal Kombat 11 is not only real, but it’s releasing on 23rd April for the PlayStation 4. A community reveal event will be hosted on 17th January, where we’ll presumably see the first footage from the hotly anticipated fighter. If you simply can’t wait to cough up your cash, pre-orders are open now and will guarantee you access to Shao Khan at launch.

The press release reveals: “The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customise the fighters and make them your own. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.”

First off, what is that music? My bowel movements after a Mexican dinner would be a better soundtrack than that.

Seriously a nice announcement though. I still need to play MKX, personally.

That song is of putting, its hard to get hyped about the fight while the singer is like lazily sing the song. The mk 10 launch trailer is way better.

Man, hell yeah I can't tell ya how stoked I am to hear this. Me and my kids LOVE Mortal Kombat, and was talking here recently how we couldn't wait for them to make another one, and BAM!! Hell yeah, bring them gory and brutal Fatalities to the MAXIMUM! Maybe they will go old school and throw in some hidden codes in there for Animailities too!!? Ha, prolly wishful thinking but I would love to see those return to the series!!

It’s already been harped on but wow. That music.

My cat’s butthole could have done a better job.

They seriously have a disconnect with their audience which doesn’t inspire confidence. I couldn’t get through more than a third of the trailer.

😵My ears almost started bleeding thanks to that horrible music, WTH they were thinking choosing that song, but anyways I'm glad we are getting a new Mortal Kombat but I hate DLC preorder

@OmegaStriver yh I doubt it has anything to fear in regards to Rage and MK is a fighter so completely different audience. (despite me getting both of them)

@viciousarcanum Well, Days Gone is quite a bit different from Athem and Metro as well. I believe MK and Rage offer more competition than those two.

@OmegaStriver there's not much hype for rage and Sony have been doing well with their exclusives to drop the ball now would be silly, also even though it's not indicative for everywhere I work for a gaming retailer and people have shown interest for days gone whereas for the others there hasn't been a peep.
