It seems that almost nobody in the games industry can keep a secret these days. Epic Games had planned to make some sort of announcement regarding its smash hit battle royale shooter, Fortnite, at The Game Awards 2018. While the start of season 7 is still set for 6th December, lining up rather nicely with Geoff Keighley's show, a bigger reveal looks like it was due to be made at the show, and a YouTuber has gone and leaked the whole thing.

A brand new mode is coming to Fortnite called Creative, in which players will be able to construct their very own creations and maps without restrictions. This effectively operates a bit like Minecraft's creative mode; you'll have access to an infinite supply of all materials, and be able to fly around a standard map, filling it with whatever you fancy. You'll then be able to save and share your creations online to revisit later with friends, and even set up game rules to be able to play deathmatches or other game types on your unique maps.

Fortnite YouTuber Lachlan posted a video detailing all of this, including lots of footage of the new mode in action. This was ahead of an embargo, and the video has since been pulled for obvious reasons. We expect Creative mode to make its official debut at The Game Awards, and it may even launch at the end of the event -- but that's just speculation on our part. All eyes on Keighley, then.
