Update 1.03 for Red Dead Redemption 2 is available to download now on PlayStation 4. The patch weighs in at a reasonable 5.6GB, and according to its description on Sony's console, it provides "a range of miscellaneous improvements and big fixes for optimal performance". Of course, it also adds the Red Dead Online beta to the game.
Said beta goes live today (that's the 27th November) for those who purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game. We'll hopefully have some impressions for you in the near future.

Will be interesting to see if it fixes the disappearing NPCs, HDR and rendering issues of the PS4 Pro version. To the Foundry!
I wonder if it'll fix some frame rate issues I've experienced. Playing on the launch version of the PS4, every time I enter any town, the frame rate really dips. It's never bothered me or broke my immersion, but I was surprised to see it in a Rockstar game, and it's definitely something I notice every time it's occurred during my 80+ hours with the game. That said, this game is incredible. I 100%-ed the original; I don't know if I'll 100% this one, but I'm at 90.4% and I absolutely do not wanna play another game right now.
The only problem I got so far was the famous "missing NPC" bug and I started a new game so I won't download update until the patch gets tested...
Over 4 weeks since release and the first patch since the day 1 patch. Wow!
I hope this patch adds an option to turn off the dof effects which i believe is causing blurry interiors. Other than the dof blur RDR2 looks good most of the time except for the Saint-Denis area, and has good frame rates. My combo is a PRO using a non hdr 1080p tv, supersampling off, boost on.

@JoeBlogs I played both GTA IV and the original RDR on Xbox 360 and never had any technical issues whatsoever.
I just want true HDR support and a sharper image on the PRO, other than that I've not had many performance issues apart from once in the big city when it turned into a slideshow of single figures framerate but it's never happened since
@JoeBlogs can't disagree with that. I skipped PS3 entirely and just bought the remastered PS3 exclusives I missed/wanted to play and played them on PS4, which really only equates to The Last of Us, Journey, and the Uncharted Collection.
Just beat this amazing game yesterday. The only technical issues I had the the whole time was 1- a bull dropped out the sky above its pen and died which I found hilarious and 2- one laggy 30 second cutscene close to the end of Arthur's story. The rest of the game has been perfect.
@NoCode23 I have the same setup, but supersampling is on. All looks amazing. No issues at all. Finished story - didn't have any glitches apart from missing bison's pelt from the back of my horse, while travelling by train. But I took it as it was lost or stolen when my horse was on it's own for many hours. Rdr2 Online doesn't look as sharp as Story mode for some reasons, maybe due to in-game hazy weather. But faces are definitely a bit blurred and less animated.
P. S. : waiting for delivery of my new 4k hdr hlg dolby atmos TV next week.
No HDR fix yet....pity

@LegendOfStewart too bad you missing out on
demon soul. heavy rain. Nino kuni. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Infamous 1&2. Disgaea D2, Drakengard 3, Folklore, Heavenly Sword. Bunch of Anime games too 😂 the list is looong
@Oizon GTA Online never looked as sharp as the story mode either. I'm sure it's purposely toned down for technical reasons.
Only 50k races with your horse to get his insurance or pay up 5 gold bars and you earn 0.2 nugget per race
@andreoni79 Same, started a new game when I was deep in Chapter 2 because of the bug. Now at Chapter 4 since October 25th because work, women - fatigue from those 2 when even I have the chance to play lol. But I'm not in a hurry, love it so much, doing all side quests and hunting & fishing. It's hard to avoid spoilers though, no wonder people just wanna rush through any new game nowadays.
Can I ask a serious, honest question. Why do some people experience bugs and framerate issues and others don't? I mean, every game is shipped the same and every standard PS4 is presumably the same. Why does one person get poor frame rates and missing NPC's and I've not experience either of these things? Genuine question.
@tomassi I think its mostly a matter of perception. Some people genuinely dont notice it or just dont care while others do. Also there are differences in hardware with regular and Pro PS4 and external harddrives
@tomassi Some people just did the mission right, didn't reload it. And didn't get that bug.
