Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has done really, really well in Japan. The PlayStation 4 shooter has once again secured the top spot of the software charts, leaping over last week's leader, Red Dead Redemption 2, in the process. Treyarch's title has shifted another 39,000 copies, which is impressive given that this is its fourth week on sale. It now sits at a very, very respectable total of 418,000 units, and that's not even counting digital.
Red Dead Redemption 2, meanwhile, is closing in on 200,000 total copies. It moved a further 34,000 units and settled in second place this time around. It's looking to be another Western juggernaut in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Despite continued software success, however, PS4 numbers have dropped. Combined, the standard model and PS4 Pro sold less than 18,000 units.

NANI?!! Wasn't expecting that...
God forbid the charts in two weeks time.
If that game does well I'm gonna puke. :/
Call of Duty has done really well.
@Knuckles-Fajita You mean YouTubers Life: OMG Edition (this is an actual game)
Also, for context: that is almost double of what Call of Duty sold last year. That is a lot, especially considering this is still without digital sales taken into account.
@get2sammyb lol Call of Duty games suck. i don't buy Call of Duty games anymore since i bought COD advance warfare in around 2014
@Kidfried No I'm talking Pocket Monsters.
I mean either or really. Both are puke inducing XD
"My guns go "BOOM BOOM!" and yo' guns go "pow pow." - as Big L would say.
I never expected CoD to sell that great in Japan especially without a single player experience
Do Japanese people not have Tv's anymore? They seem weirdly obsessed with portable gaming
Sigh hate call of duty trash game
I was curious how the reduced price Pro would do and if it would bump sales in general, now it's been out for a few weeks it just seems to have cannibalised the extras from the standard PS4 sales. It does make me wonder if we'll see PS5 release earlier than rest of world in Japan given the slump it has been in since MHW, compared to still killing it in Europe and America.
The Japanese have no taste thats for sure. 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
And the Xbox One X is killing it. 😜
Warriors Orochi is doing really bad.
Dayium! Still no mayor release for the Switch and its... still sellin' like hot cakes. The Japanese must really love the Nintendo.
I think the Japanese mindset when buying a game produced in the West must be, “Hmm... which game is the closest to Splatoon 2?” and then they buy that one. That can be the only explanation.
