God of War The Golden Joystick Awards PS4 1

The Game Awards may still be a few weeks away, but that's not the only award show in town, with the 2018 Golden Joystick Awards taking place this evening. It was a big night for PlayStation, with the likes of God of War scooping up multiple prizes and Detroit: Become Human getting some recognition for its character performances.

God of War won first place in the following categories: Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, Best Audio, and PlayStation Game of the Year, while the developer itself, Sony Santa Monica, won the award of Studio of the Year. Elsewhere, Bryan Dechart won the Best Performer trophy for his portrayal of Connor in Detroit: Become Human, Dead Cells was crowned the Best Indie Game of the year, while Monster Hunter: World took home the prize for Best Co-Operative Game.
