Fallout New Vegas

Veteran role-playing game developer Obsidian Entertainment is "very doubtful" that it'll make another Fallout game. The studio was responsible for Fallout: New Vegas, a game that's still considered by many to be a high point of the series. Ever since its release in 2010, fans have been asking Obsidian whether it would ever consider returning to the franchise, and although the developer's never been able to give a concrete answer, it's always seemed an unlikely scenario.

A while before Fallout 76 was officially revealed at E3, there were whispers that a new Fallout game was in the works, and as you'd expect, there was some speculation over Obsidian's possible involvement. Obviously the rumours proved to be untrue, but as mentioned, people still look back on New Vegas as one of the best, if not the best modern Fallout title.

And so fans still quiz Obsidian whenever they get the chance. Over on Twitter, a user has asked the developer what the chances are of it making another Fallout game. Obsidian's answer? A picture of a magic 8-ball saying "very doubtful".

Recently, reports saying that Microsoft was on the verge of buying Obsidian Entertainment surfaced, and if they turn out to be accurate, then there's perhaps even less chance of us ever seeing another Fallout title made by Obsidian.

You know what? At this point, we'd go for a New Vegas remaster on PS4. Even better, a remake using the Fallout 4 engine. Go on Bethesda, get it done.
