Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is embracing the big trends, as if that wasn't obvious enough with the inclusion of Blackout, the game's battle royale mode. As spotted by users over on Reddit, the shooter will feature both emotes and sprays that you can use mid-match. Prepare yourself for a lot of funky dancing.
One of the chief concerns here, however, is that in-game emotes will allow players to "emote peek", a term that refers to players using the third-person camera that accompanies emotes to look around corners and check for incoming opponents. We'll have to wait and see whether it's a concern that carries over into the finished release.
How do you feel about Call of Duty chasing what's popular? Didn't it used to be the other way around? Hug some corners in the comments section below.

Sprays? Not a clue what this this even means, I'll just stick to my single player stuff 😁
@carlos82 Agreed; I barely understood "emotes" but I specifically clicked this article to find out what sprays are, and it offers no help.
Back in my day, etc.
Activision must be down with the kids, i've no clue. Don't think of myself as old but these modern game trends go over my head!
@RogerRoger @carlos82 They're like in-game stickers you can slap on walls. They're all the rage.
@ShogunRok Ah, so what I believe the kids used to call "tagging", then? I'll stick to Jet Set Radio, ta, but thanks for the clarification!
@ShogunRok I thought it was made to give you less chance to get good loot. My thanks goes Activision Blizzard with this one. 👍
@RogerRoger @ShogunRok oh so basically the same as I used to do with paintball mode on Goldeneye 20 years ago 😆
Kids today with their "new" inventions 😉
@carlos82 Glad to hear I'm not the only one who spends most of his time in shooters drawing smiley faces with bullet holes.
@RogerRoger I like trying to draw nobs with auto rifles
There's some amazing art done with bullet holes in GTAV. Pics of Tigers and samurai showdowns, that sort of thing. There are some proper talented people out there.
@JohnnyBastos Well, I guess it's, er... nice to have a hobby.
@ApostateMage There are indeed; sounds awesome, I'll look some of it up! I guess we've definitely moved on from the days where games could only render four or five bullet holes in a wall before having to make them disappear.
