Destiny 2: Forsaken - How to Access the Dreaming City

The Dreaming City is Destiny 2: Forsaken's brand new end-game area, housing the raid and a variety of other activities for Guardians to accomplish in order to increase their power level. Here's how to access it.

How to Access the Dreaming City

Complete the main campaign

First things first, you'll need to complete the expansion's core story missions that deal with Uldren Sov and his gang of Scorned Barons. Once that's done, speak to Spider on the Tangled Shore.

Loot the three Lost Sectors

He will task you with looting three Lost Sectors across the patrol area of the Tangled Shore. They are as follows:

  • In an Old Corsair hideout - The only Lost Sector found in the Jetsam of Saturn
  • In the heart of Spider's web - The Lost Sector located right next to Spider's lair
  • In a rare green place - The Lost Sector situated in the centre of Four-Horn Gulch

Once you've collected the broken Awoken Talisman from every Lost Sector, once again head back to Spider.

Deal with the Taken

Next, you're handed the task of killing 300 Taken enemies. While that may be a large number, there's a method that makes this step a complete breeze, and it takes the form of the Lake of Shadows strike found in the EDZ. Run through this strike twice and you'll reach the kill count in no time.

Wait it out for the Ether Harvest public event

We're nearly there Guardian, but unfortunately there's one more step that can become incredibly tedious. After returning to Spider following your Taken kill spree, he asks you to complete an Ether Harvest public event. Easy enough, he doesn't even ask that you trigger the heroic modifier, but the difficulty actually comes from simply finding one to participate in. The Ether Harvest public event can only be found in the Four-Horn Gulch area of the Tangled Shore, but it's not the only one that can crop up there. So, you've basically got to ride your luck and hope that the correct event appears. Once it finally does, complete it and head back to Spider.

Complete A Hum of Starlight

We've finally got our ticket into the Dreaming City in the form of the repaired Awoken Talisman, so head over to The Cobble to start the introductory mission for this end-game area. The enemies there are no pushover though, so make sure you're power level is hovering around the 500 mark before you venture forth to make sure you don't waste any time. Once the mission A Hum of Starlight is complete, you'll have gained access to the patrol area of the Dreaming City.
