More information is emerging about the PlayStation Store’s new search feature, which was spotted by eagle-eyed PS4 firmware update v6.00 beta testers yesterday. Screenshots show that Sony is replacing the divisive “wheel” utility, and opting for a more straight-forward keypad instead. And new images reveal that you’ll be able to search by publisher and genre as well.
The pictures posted to ResetEra show a search for Ubisoft returning all of the French publisher’s games, while inputting words like ‘Racing’ or ‘Horror’ also returns titles that fit the bracket. The platform holder’s yet to actually confirm any of the features that will be included in the new system software, but this oft-requested addition seems like a strong place to start.

Finally up to standard with every other storefront now.
Honestly the PS Store got a huge downgrade in the jump to PS4, I'm surprised this is only just happening now.
But at least it's happening at all.

Cool. I might actually buy digital PS4 games on my console now instead of going to the way better designed web storefront.
I actually don't mind the 'wheel' that much, i find it quite easy to use, though it takes a while to use admittedly lol
Would LOVE to search by genre, the serious problem with that is the fact some games are mislabelled. Ive gone into the store and to ALL GAMES then put the filter to genre and have noticed some horror games not included but will find them in adventure or action when really they should be in horror.
So this is a 1st step but they need to rehaul the whole thing for it to be effective. My 2 cents

For a major numbered update, 6.0 better have more than this. I mean this is nice and all, but it’s something Amazon could implement on their store overnight with almost no fuss. It does seem to make sense though.
Could today be the day this goes live? PSN is undergoing maintenance right now.
Good, I hated the old search function. Glad that they also did a bit more with the search function as well.
