Whenever a new Yakuza game launches in Japan, it usually jumps straight to the top of the software charts, and the PlayStation 4 remaster of Yakuza 3 has done just that. That said, it only moved 26,000 copies, which is very low for a Yakuza title, but perhaps not unexpected given that it's a remaster. The wacky Fire Pro Wrestling World also made the top 5 on PS4, entering in fourth place with 20,200 copies.
This is the first time in a while that Nintendo's iron grip on the software charts has loosened, although that doesn't mean things have improved for Sony on the hardware front. PS4 and PS4 Pro sales are still rather lacking, with combined numbers barely managing to break 20,000 units.

Straight remaster is inherently less interesting than a full remake. But still, good show there.
Yakuza 3, the series that started it all for me.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Nah i rather have more Yakuza.
if 20,000 PS4 sales for japan are "lacking", then the same could be said comparatively about UK sales, which are around 10,000 a week currently, since its population is just over half that of japan.
I am really hoping for a Yakuza collection after Y5 port is out. I guess something like this: Yakuza collection 1 (Y0, YK1 and YK2), Yakuza collection 2 (Y3, Y4 and Y5) and of course we already have Y6 the song of life.
Does Xbone sell like 500 consoles a year in Japan? Yay Yakuza! They neutered three in the west so when they bring it here they better get it right this time.
@legalstep Looking at the rough totals that would mean by your exaggerated mathematics that the Xbox One was released in Japan 197 years ago long before we even had TVs to play the damn thing on.
Dunno why Microsoft is failing if they were that ahead of the game, but I guess it is a legacy console by these standards.
@KingdomHeartsFan yup, I just might buy it again.
@Knuckles-Fajita I think your response could be framed for exceptional mathematical accuracy. I may have overestimated Microsoft's success in Japan.
