Gamescom 2018: Dante Steps Up in New Devil May Cry 5 Trailer

That looks sick. Dante!!! Nero's looking better awful hairstyle aside. I liked his line, "Do you do parties?" It looks the story might be some classic DMC. Not getting too edgy. Also, I hope they don't have swearing here. It just ends being at odds with witty lines like that. The reboot and anime just suffered from it. This looks great though. If it keeps looking so good I don't know what I'll in March. It might be hard to get this and Shadows Only Die Twice.

@Jaz007 i dunno swearing would work as long as it's used properly such as if something really big happens and Nero says "What the **** was that?"

as long as it's not near the levels of DmC: Devil May Cry then i'm fine with some

@FullbringIchigo I don’t ever like it personally, but sometimes I can understand it. I mean, if it’s just like the one part of the 4, like where he’s really upset with someone and says he’s tried of the BS, I can get that. It’s rarer and pointed like you say. When it’s used frequently and the moment an enemy gets called an F’r or piece of S (this ones from the anime, felt so robbed of something funny) is when in particular DMC runs into problems. It needs that perfect corniness to it. Like even if it’s not more than I’m okay with personally for playing the game, I still worry about the game a little just because of the anime having poorer dialogue because of it. I just don’t want anthing close to that F you conversation with a boss in DmC lol. I want those “do yo do parties?” throughout the game. Those make my day. Swearing and corniness like that don’t mix well, hence the concern. It goes along with my story concerns and it being edgy I guess (though I don’t think they’re the same thing, this and that) as I play DMC for story/characters as much as I do to gameplay sometimes. I find it harder to play with extra characters because they don’t have cutscenes like the main characters do.
Gameplaywise game looks great, I’m sold on that, now I need to be sold on story and characters. I want DMC3 levels of story quality here.
If I pre-ordered it and the game’s story was heavily criticized in reviews, I’d probably cancel the pre-order.

@Jaz007 @FullbringIchigo There is a little bit of swearing confirmed. In the IGN gameplay footage, Nero at one point says "Give him some of the good stuff. To be fair, he's done it before in DMC4, such as the scene where he flips off Dante.

I don't think it'll happen too often.

Dante looks like he's auditioning to be in Final Fantasy XV.

Capcom is on fire this gen, can't wait for march 2019

Allriiiiight! Loving this, really seems to have captured some of the original Devil May Cry magic - OTT action and cheesy one liners. Looks like Dante’s rocking a little bit of Geralt style grizzle, and rocking it well 😄

For the first half of the trailer, I thought it looked like typical action stuff, nothing extraordinary. Then it got more interesting. Then he started flying. Then... he dual-wielded his motorcycle. I've never played any of these games, but you gotta respect that.

@Enuo Yes, that would be awesome. If they announced DLC that added Dante to the main party of the game I’d play it again instantly. Taking Dante on a rod trip would be epic.

@KidBoruto The trilogy and the fourth game were on sale recently, I bought these games on this sale. It’s an amazing series, I really recommend it.

@KidBoruto Oh, absolutely, the trilogy will be really cheap during that time. Capcom wants as many players possible to jump in the series and buy the new game.

Why does no one cry about Nero's hair since it looks exactly the same (almost looks like the same full model) as DmC?

@Undead22 well i have no issue with swearing in games apart from when they do it just for the sake of doing it like they did in DmC: Devil May Cry, that whole exchange with the succubus was just cringey
