If you’ve had a PlayStation podcast shaped hole in your life since the death of Kinda Funny’s popular PS I Love You XOXO and our very own Push Square Podcast, then you may be interested to learn about Colin Moriarty’s new endeavour: Sacred Symbols. Following largely the same format as the original Podcast Beyond, this promises to be a hardcore Sony show for hardcore Sony fans.
Moriarty is joined by new co-host Chris Ray Gun, and the first episode tackles topics such as cross-play and games like Ghost of Tsushima. We haven’t completed the inaugural instalment just yet, but it does feel very familiar from what we’ve listened to – in a good way. You can learn more about the podcast on Soundcloud, or you can subscribe in iTunes.

Glad Colin is back in regards to podcasting , been listening to him since 09 with Beyond.
Awesome news, was ridiculous that Kinda Funny ditched PS I Love in the first place.
@adf86 People want to move on and do different things.
Yesss!!!
I hope it weekly.
@Fight_Teza_Fight As far as I understand, it is.
I never 'listen' to podcasts at all and will watch the odd one or two on youtube - especially if it has timestamps to the points of interest to me. I don't mind watching these if/when they are broken up too for specific topics rather than sitting through an hour of 'chat'.
If its not on youtube though, I won't bother at all
I liked Beyond and XOXO but Moriarty sucked wanting to be a political pundit... He could charmingly talk smugly about video games because he could back it off but when he tried to bring the same smuggnes to politics of which he knows nothing of it came of as entitled and pathetic
So what about the Push Square Podcast,eh @get2sammyb?
@Bigkopman The dream is dead.
@DualWielding Doesn't he have like a degree in American history or something. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less about his political commentary either, but I always got the impression he had some idea of what he was talking about?
Anyway, seems like he's back to games now, which is good.
Beyond!
@get2sammyb Nice! I’m subscribed to PlayStation Radio UK, but those guys put out one show maybe once every 6 weeks.
Will check it out.
Great news
I always thought he is one of those guys that has to nitpick everything and is always unhappy...but I am glad he is back!
Glad he is back too. Kinda Funny definitely misses this type of personality.
Cool!
His youtube channel is fairly garbage unfortunately. I only briefly listened to kinda funny podcasts last year and gave up when they gave up on ps i love you xoxo. Giant Beastcast and IGN UK podcasts are good although UK IGN don't talk much about games at all.
After seeing the picture, I though collin is back with greg again
I subscribed to collin on youtube (collin last stand) because my games preference usually the same as collin. It's a shame his kinda funny gig didn't work out, I like the mix of hype (greg) and realistic (collin) take on kinda funny channel before collin departure, now kinda funny just a bunch of people agreeing on the topics at hand.
I like youtube video podcast more than audio only podcast though.
I liked Colin on KF even though I disagreed with him a lot. His somewhat pessimistic take caused me to think a different way at times which was appreciated but was balanced by Greg's enthusiasm and Tim's all around hype/positivity for everything. Him by himself is quite a drag tbh though. I do wish him luck and hopes he finds a large audience however, guy definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to games!
@DualWielding
Just out of curiosity is it because you don't agree with his conservative views that he 'knows nothing?' Because frankly I don't see anybody ever call out the idiots at Kinda Funny, the idiots at IGN, the idiots at Gamespot, all who equally know nothing but because they hate Trump and capitalism, lets just let them pop off from the mouth. I don't agree with Colin's views on everything but he knows a hell of a lot more politics than his former colleagues who just want to screech everything they don't like means people are supporting nazis.
@redd214
Agree. I didn't mind Colin on Beyond or at Kind Funny but that's because eventhough I can't stand Greg Miller - I think most of his act is fake - he at least brought some passion for games. With Moriarty it isn't so much his pessimism but his complete indifference and lack of passion that bothered me. He knows games, no question about that, but too often it was 'I've just found myself bored so I haven't played games lately.' Which is fine, I've gone through those cycles too but why bother doing a game podcast if you don't care about games? Makes no sense. I wish him the best, don't ever want to see anybody fail, but I could easily see this guy losing interest in doing these podcasts pretty quickly and even if he keeps doing them, I could see a lot of them just being him rambling about why he hates games depending on how he feels that week, month or year.
@Gamer83 I think he probably just needed a break. Like you say, we all go through these phases, but when it's your career... Phew, it's really hard to stay passionate about something you're burned out on.
It sounded like the old Colin from the bits of this podcast I listened to, so I imagine the time out has done him good.
Never got the love that Moriarty (& Miller) have got over the years, find them really unlikeable personallu
Too biased, a show for hardcore Sony fans is really all he can do.
@get2sammyb
Yeah, I can understand that. I think the problem I had with it was, to my knowledge at the time he was at Kinda Funny much of the money came from patreon. You're taking hard-earned money from your followers who want to hear your opinion and far too often he's sitting there saying nothing, sometimes almost looked like he sulking and I just didn't think that was right. I mean, I guess I'd rather he be real about it than fake passion but still, at that point you need to move on and he took too long to do so. It seemed he was making bank while not doing much. More power to you if you can do that, but it's slightly scummy.
Greg and Colin had fantastic chemistry together, and even though I largely disagree with both of their tastes in gaming, that chemistry made them a must listen. I'll check this out and see what it has to offer. I can't really get into Kinda Funny, it's so sophomoric and reeks of foul language.
@Gamer83 Yeah it's a tough one.
Really excited about this we need more Colin Moriarty content. Hopefully they will talk politics sometimes.
I love me some Chris Ray Gun. His Content Cop series is great!
I don't know, I find that guy to be quite arrogant sometimes. Also, he tends to looked jaded whenever he was on IGN's Beyond Podcast.
I respect colin and chris, hate podcasts though.
Gave it a listen. It was pretty good. If Colin stays passionate about this and takes it seriously, then we'll have that missing podcast for PlayStation fans. Still not sure how it will go in the long run, but the all-important first impression is a good one.
I'll go give it a listen. I don't expect to enjoy it, but I am just that desperate for a dedicated PS podcast.
Beyond was the podcast that made me a PS fans...
Gonna try download this podcast of old time sake!
Glad to here Colin is coming back to gaming. I hope he is still up to date on gaming news and incite. I'm in for a test listen.
@JohnKarnes He has been back doing gaming content for quite a long time now. He posts a lot on YouTube, well worth a watch.
I listened, it was not bad!
I always found him very self important and a bit of a know it all back in the IGN and XOXO days but in general he was a nice contrast to Greg Miller.
Unless I am missing something, the PushSquare podcast isn't currently publishing, right?
whoooop
@JohnKarnes He does like to incite, but I think you mean insight.
@Knuckles-Fajita That definitely wasn't the reason.
