Adorable Platformer Astro Bot Rescue Mission Jumps onto PSVR in October

We've loved the look of Astro Bot Rescue Mission since it was announced, and luckily, we won't have to wait too much longer to play it. The PSVR exclusive platformer, based on The Playroom VR's Robot Rescue game, launches on 3rd October 2018.

In the above video, creative director Nicolas Doucet talks us through how the game operates and the unique gameplay a virtual reality platformer enables. If you pre-order the game digitally, you'll also earn Astro Bot avatars, a PS4 theme, and the soundtrack.

Playroom VR is great fun and I was wondering if they'd ever do anything with the platformer. If you have kids and VR you should definitely give it a go as I've had a ton of fun with the cat and mouse game and the Godzilla esque mode too

As soon as I get PSVR, this is one of the first games I'll buy, assuming it reviews well. It looks really good

Still no mention of the couch co-op that the first game had. My wife and kid were having a lot of fun with this a few weeks ago. Guess I should give up on the idea at this point.

What a frustrating time for it to come out with Sept-Dec being so loaded. I can afford to buy it but it stinks that it’s sales will definitely be hurt releasing it so close to the other big AAA games.

@OmegaStriver It gives me the impression of a game whose sales won't be front loaded. I'm sure that the people who are interested in it will eventually buy it.

What an expensive few months it's gonna be. Definitely picking it up. It's the sort of game I don't need a review to know I need this. The Playroom VR has already sold me.

I won't be buying it. I think the last two platform games which I played were Manic Miner on the ZX Spectrum and Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Megadrive. I was bored with their simplicity and the fact that they didn't feature enough Rainbows and Unicorns. It has left me with a long standing amount of negativity towards the genre.
