Remember PREY? It came out just over a year ago, was well received, and is beloved by its players. In an effort to possibly counteract poor commercial performance, Bethesda has announced a slew of updates and new content heading to Arkane Studios' sci-fi horror adventure.

A free update has already hit the game, which brings New Game Plus and a tough Survival mode, both of which providing new challenges for veteran players. Also out now is Mooncrash, a brand new mode that puts a roguelike spin on the PREY formula. Here's the official blurb:

In Mooncrash, players take on the role of a hacker named Peter who’s stationed aboard a spy satellite tasked with intercepting TranStar communications. Shortly after the events of Prey, TranStar’s secret moon base stops transmitting – and now it’s up to Peter to find out why. Trapped on the station and bound by a ruthless contract with TranStar rival KASMA Corp, Peter’s only hope of seeing his family again is uncovering the moon base’s lost secrets. Against all odds, Peter must escape a TranStar base rife with enemies and hazards… with the goals – and loot – changing each time you play. The further you go, the better the loot – and the better your chances for survival in your next spin through Mooncrash.

What's more, a new multiplayer mode is on the way. It's called Typhon Hunter, and sees one player take on the role of a human as they battle to find and kill five others who take control of the shape-shifting Mimics. This mode will be included as part of the Mooncrash DLC.
