In every Assassin's Creed game up until now, harming enough innocent non-playable characters has resulted in you being 'desynced'. Essentially, this is a game over state -- you're taken out of the game and respawned. Now, we doubt most players attempt to go on regular killing sprees in Assassin's Creed titles, but if you happened to whack a civilian during combat or, as was often the case in past entries, perform an accidental assassination on some poor bugger who just happened to be walking by, it'd be annoying to have the game scold you.

Fortunately, Assassin's Creed Odyssey won't have any of that crap. Instead of giving you a stern wag of the finger and an eventual desync for causing chaos, Odyssey will just slap a bounty on your head. In similar fashion to Grand Theft Auto, you'll apparently be saddled with a kind of 'wanted level', and certain groups will hunt you down in an attempt to punish you for your crimes.

All in all, it sounds like a welcome addition, and it seems to gel with the game's newfound role-playing elements. But what do you make of it? Summon the guards in the comments section below.
