What the heck? Bethesda has announced Fallout 76 after a day of teasing. Many had expected the publisher’s countdown to conclude with some kind of remaster news, but it looks like we’re getting a brand new game instead. The number ‘76’ recurs frequently throughout the 90 second clip, but it seems that it primarily alludes to Vault 76.
There’s no further information available at the time of typing, but more will be announced at E3 2018 next month. You can find out when and where to watch Bethesda's E3 2018 press conference through the link.
Reliable Kotaku scribe Jason Schreier believes that this may be some form of online spin-off, and a collaboration between Bethesda Game Studios' Maryland and Austin offices. We'll have to wait a little longer to find out for sure, but in the meantime, let us know if you’re hyped for more Fallout in the comments section below.

I wish more announcements would be saved for E:, I’m not a fan of it all being announced beforehand.
I love Fallout but 4 was not a great game and with Shelter being a thing, I'll definitely need more details before I let myself get excited. Having said that though, I'm really disappointed it isn't a remaster of New Vegas.

That is a great trailer. It brought back the hype of the Fallout series for me. However... no idea what this is.
Looks like it could be a side-entry in the style of New Vegas. The poster on the wall says 1776-2076. If it's set in 2076, that would put it way before the others, probably around the time the bombs first started falling and it all kicked off.

On the other hand, Jason Schreier (the guy from the article) is often right on the money with his insider info. He's pretty much the best investigative video game journalist.

@get2sammyb My inner voice is telling me to keep my expectations fully in check. But the OTHER voice, the one that's thinking about playing a full single-player Fallout instalment where you play as a disgraced Vault-Tec employee during the war, doesn't seem to be listening. I have no idea what I'm basing any of this on.

Also, I meant that because of his trustworthy investigative work and connections with devs, it also makes other stuff he spreads more believable. Can't remember him ever being wrong, but take it with whatever grain of salt you want.

Personally, I've never gotten into settlement/survival/fort-building games (dabbled in ARK and Rust), and I basically ignored that part of Fallout 4. It's easy to see how they went from that to this, tho.

Seems like it may be a strategy base-building game similar to Fallout: Shelter, but obviously more detailed and in 3D and perhaps able to fight against other players' vaults in the online component.

i remember them coming out with their support for SP only games and yet they decided to make 1 of their most popular games online focused.
