Spider-Man’s hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 release date has been decided, according to Game Informer magazine. As part of an exclusive cover story set to run this week and all month online, the popular American publication has confirmed that it’s played the game – and knows its release date. Of course, Sony’s keeping this information underwraps for the time being.
Despite the platform holder’s silence on the matter, it feels like the game is close. God of War was only dated a few weeks ago, and is due out later this month; we can see the company following a similar hype cycle with Spider-Man. This marketing push seems designed to ride the coat-tails of Avengers: Infinity War, so we could see the title dropping shortly after the movie in the summer.
Update: According to the Insomniac Games Twitter account, the date will be announced tomorrow (4th April).

Oh hell yeah! After playing thru the 2 ps4 infamous games over the weekend I'm super excited to swing around a city as spiderman. Can't wait for more info!

I think July would be a good time to launch the game. The fact that my birthday's in July and I can likely get someone else to buy the game for me has nothing to do with my thought process.

Please no. I would rather have the game delayed so that the devs would get more time to polish the game instead of releasing it early just for marketing purposes. It happened with Seven Deadly Sins Knights of Brittania and TMNT: Turtles in Manhattan, and I don't want Spiderman to follow suit.

@SoulsBourne128 delay to 2019 or November ? that would be dumb for Sony to release this game in November after RDR 2 launch and sell very crazy. if they delay this to 2019 that would make fans mad like they did with Days Gone
@hubertuss03 Insomniac Games are a California-based developer, so why would they write the date the UK way (day, month, year) and not the American way (month, day, year)?

Visually the game looks good and the action looks interesting - just hope it controls well. I still have concerns about the game but that's only natural about a 'new' game. Despite a few video's - not necessarily appeasing those concerns and even adding to them with the QTE's, we haven't really heard a lot. I hope this month gives more details.
Having played Sunset Overdrive, that game offered quite a large open world with numerous side quests etc so it will be interesting to see how Insomniac fill the city...
Didn't expect they will announce the release date this early. OK, I predict July. Reason why is that when they announced the release date of God Of War, it was by the end of January (3 months prior to it's release). Plus, Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in July 2017. So, its a good omen for them, especially it was a critical and a commercial success.

Sweet! This would be a perfect summer game after the E3 hype. I'm more excited that this is an Insomniac game, love their work.
