If you've pre-ordered God of War from the PlayStation Store, then you'll be happy to know that you can start downloading the game right now on your PlayStation 4. As long as you have automatic downloads enabled, pre-orders like this should start downloading as soon as they're available, but if that's not the case, you can easily start things off yourself.
Simply head over to your library and find God of War. Click it and you'll be taken to the pre-release game page. There should be a download option on there.
Obviously you won't be able to play until the release date (20th April), but it's nice to be able to get it all downloaded and ready to go. God of War weighs in at 44.486GB, so it's probably best to get it started sooner rather than later.

But the real question is, how long will we have to wait for it to install if we get it on disc? Will there be a 3D model of Kratos beating his chest to keep us entertained while we wait?
hmm, might be time to move some of my internal games to the external HDD, going to be playing this one a lot and I have no faith in my old external HDD that was laying around. Fine for storage and the occasional PS+ game, but not 30 hours.
@ShogunRok I'll be buying this game as a physical disc. Do you know of any day one patch that will be required for it?

my internet speed is 100 mbps. it took God of War to finish download in 30 minutes

I got a physical copy. Amazon Prime made it cost $51.35. Leftover gift cards from Christmas dropped it to $1.35. I'm so ready for this game, but I'm gonna play through all the previous games first...after I finish Uncharted 4 and Uncharted Lost Legacy...geez, it feels like I'm not gonna get to this game for a long time.

As you know local prices are outrageous and ordering online still requires you to wait for delivery, forwarding and customs.
My option is being patient or download while I sleep. As long as I avoid spoilers I will survive. Plus you can start the game before it is done.

Not that you should, just pointing out you could have something to do while your game downloads.
Avoiding spoilers is 1 of the reasons I'm breaking my "no day 1" rule. I've never associated GoW w/ spoilers, just crush, kill, destroy, but something is going on with that Atreus kid, that's for sure, w/ all the spoiler warnings people keep talking about for this game.

Kinda easier and faster, yes. In any case the game is downloading right now. I just need 11GB to start it so that will make it more palatable.
Oh and Q Bert is odd. I remembered the original was hard to control but sometimes I feel Q wont move no matter what direction I press.
@sinalefa Q-bert always was and always will be hard to control. Just being able to play it and not jump off the edge was a victory in itself.
Hopefully you can get most of GoW downloaded by midnight tomorrow night. Or you could always go to bed and wait until Friday. I'll probably start playing Friday night after dinner.

@sinalefa You should consider switching to a gmail address for PushSquare, all of my alerts have gotten thru fine.
@porhawj2016 @Neolit @AlejandroMora I remember back when we were on dial-up, then when I only had 2-4 megabytes download speeds.
Now I'm maxing out around 10-12 megabytes per second for download.

I checked and it seems my phone is too old and the app is no longer supported so now I use my web browser to check it. It wasnt a PS issue.

I got this one no problem so maybe Yahoo fixed something on their end.
And to answer your other question, I don't want to drop KH2 to play GoW, so I guess I will juggle them.
