@YummyHappyPills The Switch is a good deal more popular in Japan (even if MHW and PS4 did temporarily beat it up and steal its lunch money for a few weeks), so it makes sense that Splatoon 2 would go back to selling more. Sony won't see those sorts of sales again until another DQ or MH game come out.
Also, Kirby has been doing pretty well everywhere. Although I think that speaks more to the eagerness of the install base for more first-party Switch games than anything else.
It's interesting to me that PS4 sales of AoT2 have a slight lead on Switch sales, although it's probably down to Kirby: Star Allies taking attention away from it.
It's a shame that Japan didn't support Shadow of the Colossus. Glad the game did great on NPD and UK.
Fist of the North Star still is doing great, I believe.
@YummyHappyPills To be honest ,AOT2 is a big disappointment, the first game opened at 150k across 3 platforms.
MHW holds well though and that's great.
@YummyHappyPills I think it’s supposed to be like a Return to Dreamland 2...
Given that no digital can really skew these weekly sales charts who knows how well/bad something really did. Interesting to see the difference, for physical at least, on AOT2 is not that much between PS4/Switch, especially given the install bases.
Really looked like MHW would overtake Splatoon 2 physical sales a few weeks ago, looks unlikely now, although i'd be surprised if S2 did anywhere near the digital numbers of MHW, which, pardon the pun, were monstrous.
@YummyHappyPills
And thats why I don't buy digitally unless it's sales, £55 is disgusting when it can be gotten between £35-40 physically. Mind have noticed that Japanese games always seem around £10 more than a lot of western releases digitally.
Vita at #6!
Seeing Kirby Star Allies at the top makes me sad.
@Octane Why?
Another thing I want to say is it kind of makes me wonder why Microsoft even RELEASE their console over there. People can say what they want about Nintendo and the UK, but at least they have some sort of audience there, whereas Microsoft has VERY LITTLE TO NO audience there at all.
P.S: No this is not me hating on Xbox. I'm just telling it like it is.
@Slasher Because it's a very generic Kirby game/platformer game. It doesn't do anything unique, it's very short, and they're selling it for $60. We've had budget Kirby games in the past that played and looked unique, did something different gameplay wise to spice it up, and those didn't sell as well.
But people are fine with paying full price for the most bland Kirby game ever, I don't understand it
@Octane I thought Kirby's Epic Yarn was the best one ever. So much gameplay variety and lovely visual styles.
Star Allies really did look meh to me as well.
Kirby will defeat Kratos...
