Far Cry 5 is looking pretty mad. The jury is still out on whether the game will deliver an interesting story, but what we do know about the fast-approaching sequel tells us we're in for a typically crazy experience.
Not long ago, Ubisoft revealed the season pass for Far Cry 5, which includes further adventures featuring zombies, aliens, and the Vietnam war. It's madcap, but not in a bad way. Far Cry seems to be flexible enough that it can adopt more or less any guise you can throw at it.
Far Cry Arcade, then, is a map editor, but Ubisoft has thrown in everything but the kitchen sink. Players will be able to play or create single player, co-op, or PvP levels using an enormous variety of assets, including a bunch from other Ubisoft games. In addition to Far Cry 5 items, you'll also be able to utilise objects from Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Watch Dogs, and more. This will only be expanded when the DLC releases, allowing you to build levels from parts found in each of the season pass add-ons.
You'll also be able to create playlists, play official creations, and engage in all-new modes. It sounds as though Ubisoft has grand plans for Far Cry Arcade, promising to support it post-release with creation contests, new content, and more. You can get the full lowdown via the official page, and we've embedded a trailer above.
What do you make of Far Cry Arcade? Will you be playing this side of Far Cry 5? Fire some rounds into the sky in the comments below.

This is mental!
By the way: "Ubisoft has thrown in everything but the kitchen sink". I bet it's got a kitchen sink!
Damn, this looks good. I found FC5s setting quite intriguing from the get go, but I'm almost even more interested in the stuff that comes with the season pass. Now this. Gawd help me, but by now I'm seriously considering buying day 1, season pass and all.
I'm not very creative but look forward to playing other peoples Maps.
Sounds great, what's not to like. Don't think I'd ever actually create myself but it adds so much value.
Think I'll save my creating plans for Dreams though.
at some point, everything released in a bundle minus the far cry 5 game, would be much more appealing to me, because it sounds much more fun than the game itself which looks crap.. i've watched the first few missions on youtube, and aside from the generic ubisoft-ness of the gameplay, the setting/tone just irk me in all the wrong ways.
Looks like a blast. Think I’ll be relying on better people than me to create some great maps. I’m in. I’m mean though the reviews of 4 were not exactly excelling I found it to be extremely fun, apart from becoming to over powered in the second half of the game. So I’m sure I’ll be enjoying this just as much
Awesome! anyone remember the old far cry map makers? Think they had it in far cry instinct and 2? Spent hours with them!
@get2sammyb No kitchen sink no buy!
Far cry 5's campaign setting feels like "look how controversial I am". If I want to watch backward rednecks doing their thing I'd just watch certain news channels. Everything around the main story looks way more fun, but what I really want is BLOOD DRAGON 2!!!
@sham8nix I remember Far Cry 3 having one. Good times.
@leucocyte Agreed. Ubisoft sandboxes are so boring. This looks like a super polished version of Gmod though!
Can't wait to use those guys without face and with floating eyes from Unity!!
