According to PlayStation Trophies, Ubisoft's been sending out another survey asking players about their thoughts on Assassin's Creed and what they'd like to see going forward. The survey goes on to list potential settings for future titles, and there are some interesting ideas here.
The dark ages and King Arthur get a mention, as does Joan of Arc's campaign against the English and the Black Death. Ghengis Khan and the Mongol invasions are acknowledged as well, but if there's one time period that we see requested more than any other, it's feudal Japan. And yes, there's mention of that era in this survey.
Viking invasions, the Spanish invasions of the Americas, and more are also noted. You get the feeling that Assassin's Creed could go in any direction at this point, especially coming off the back of ancient Egypt.
What do you want from Assassin's Creed? Tell us your most desired time period in the comments section below.

As long as a feudal Japan one comes out till after Ghost of Tsushima releases then I'm fine with it cos I can see GoT been heavily compared to Assassin's Creed if Ubisoft beat Sucker Punch to the...urm punch.
I think King Arthur would be great. They could do some really cool stuff with that.
A King Arthur setting would be awesome, Vikings too.
Plenty of material for a king Arthur setting, Excaliber could be from the first civilisation, Merlin would help with gadgets and mysticism, and the quest for the Grail could be the main story, perhaps with Mordred heading the equivalent Templar movement in that time. Player shouldn't be Arthur though, can't remember stories of him free running around Camelot.
@Futureshark "My liege, may I enquire as to why you're sitting inside that cart of hay?"
I'd go for Assassin's Creed: Vikings
Joan of Arc Man that would be cool.
Vikings!!
Remember when the director of 'Assassin's Creed III' said 6 years ago Egypt and Feudal Japan were the "worst" suggestions for a setting?

That quote didn't really age well.
I want ancient Rome! Please Ubisoft make my dream come true. I am desperate for a game set in that era/place.
@DrRockso87 Haha yeah I remember that, what a butt head!
He obviously doesn't read comments as we've been requesting those two settings since the dawn of time!
Anyway Feudal Japan or old Chinese legend stuff would be sweet...
I want to go to Australia.
Shogun or Mayan
No Portugal Discover season? Sad.
Bethlehem. I want Assasins creed dude to bust up Jesus birth party and take out the wiseman who stole all the frankensense in the world.
Of the mentioned settings I'd say Vikings appeals the most. As for settings not mentioned, I wouldn't say no to an AssCreed set during the Vietnam War.
How about a world war setting?
@LobsterJohnson That's too modern, I couldn't see that happening really.
However it would make for an interesting take on the series I guess.
You maybe right about it being too modern, probably the most logical step for Ubisoft would be to continue the current timeline from Origins, Romans/Greeks/Vikings that would bring us nicely to the original with Altair. Another era I would love to see is the Mayans/Incas, that would be soooo cool.
I would love to see China, filled with palaces, bamboo forests, rivers and all that. Imagine sneeking up in a boat, in the early morning, mist still like a carpet on the river, flanked by a rising sun and bamboo
I think a trick has been missed here. I would love to see a game set at the height of Egypt’s power not in the decline as we see in Origins. That way they could use the existing engine but just take us back in time. Akhenaten’s reign or Rameses the Great. That way we see the great temples in full and proper use not as semi ruins. The Giza plateau will look incredible rather than mostly deserted.
