Days Gone is on track for a 2018 release, but developer Sony Bend wants your feedback first. The Oregon-based outfit is appealing to local fans to come and try out the PlayStation 4 exclusive. Presumably, those accepted into the sessions will have to sign an NDA, but this could be your chance to go hands on with the title before anyone else.
According to the studio’s website, it’s looking for “passionate video game players”. To be in with a shout, you just have to send the firm an email, listing out some of your favourite games. There’s more information through here. Is this something you’d love to be involved with? Let us know if you plan to apply in the comments section below.

Ha. Favorite games, ya say? Uhhh...Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Resistance: Retribution, Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain.
There. Was I brown-nosey enough to make the cut? 😜
I am really looking forward to this - my most anticipated PS exclusive of 2018 and one of my most anticipated games. If they are looking for 'Play-testers', the game must be close (as in nearly finished) and more likely to hit the 2018 schedule...
My fave games are the uncharted series, Fortnite, horizon zero dawn and the last of us. I would love to try this game out, ot looks very fun and have been excited since I saw the demo
Im good on 3er person games and got tthe time contact me to.play i will.love to fall for.your game mi psn id ferchonline
@BAMozzy yeah.. if it not come out in first half of 2018 then Sony could announce release date for Days Gone in E3 on June
@porhawj2016 Sony seem far more reluctant to anounce dates. In the era of the internet and peoples willingness to criticise from behind a screen, its little wonder why Sony are more reluctant after a significant number of delays to high profile games.
The Internet of course has impacted on MS too with their reluctance to even announce games that are more than a year away after some long waits and even cancellations so its not just Sony that are facing public outcry.
Of course its possible that Days Gone could receive a release date at E3, maybe Gamescom or TGS too. By PSX though, if it hasn't got a date, I think its too late to hit the 2018 window. Sony though could do what they have done with God of War and just release a new trailer with the date - whether that coincides with a big event like E3 or not.
Apart from RDR2, this is my most anticipated release of 2018 at the moment. Obviously things can change as some games may yet be announced for 2018 (although I am not expecting LoU2 or GoTsushima to make it this year) as well as opinions be changed (positively and negatively) towards games but right now, its my 2nd most anticipated release of 2018.
@BAMozzy Yeah Sony said they don't want release Days Gone and TLOU 2 in same year if Days Gone not release this year because both are almost similar like stealth, kill humans and infected but Days Gone is open world and TLOU 2 is linear game and has many open areas to explore
Shame its in Oregon . i would love to get involved
I feel Days Gone is going to be the definitive zombie killing game of this generation, but I could be wrong.
Sign me up! They can even fly me across the pond at their own cost if they want to!
Too bad I'd have to be local. An exciting opportunity for those near Oregon though. Cool that they're offering up public (albeit interviewed) testing for a 1st Party title.
I'm very curious about this game. It looks pretty good so far, but I'm worried the gameplay will suffer for the "cinematic feel" that Sony exclusives tend to go for.
@BAMozzy It did not help that MS cancelled one of their biggest exclusives.
@Flaming_Kaiser 2 as Fable Legend was supposed to be a 'big' game in a known franchise - not just Scalebound. But also the fact that games like Cuphead and Crackdown 3 have taken a long time in development with a LOT of people nagging about when these will finally get a release date. That's why MS are reluctant to reveal games too soon now - people can't be upset if they don't know about games cancelled or stuck in development limbo.
Personally I think it makes sense that Sony and MS only show the next year ahead at E3 etc. That way you always get a new set of games being announced every year and can even give 'release dates' with a portion of them. You won't get the same games appearing year after year with little/no sign of being closer to actually playing them.
Er... you have to be local for this because they’re looking for actual software testers for this, as in employees. At least, that’s what I assume by this being listed at https://bendstudio.com/careers/ and requesting a resume in addition to that list of games.
This isn’t one of those “you’re a beta tester, really!” demo-in-disguises that everyone does these days, then.
