Sony PhyreEngine Nintendo Switch 1

Sony’s game development toolset PhyreEngine appears to have added support for the Nintendo Switch, judging by documentation in the system’s recently released Dragon Quest Builders demo. It’s not a massive surprise, of course, as the software already supports the Xbox One, iOS, and Android – in addition to the family of PlayStation consoles, of course.

There have been a variety of high-profile titles that have taken advantage of the tech, including the likes of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and even Journey. The engine first launched in 2008, and has since gone on to be used by over 200 games across multiple platforms.
