An ongoing issue that seems to have gone under the radar, some Monster Hunter: World players are encountering a rather nasty bug that's preventing them from accessing the game's squad system. Said system essentially allows players to create and join clans so that they can team up and find suitable allies a little quicker.
Unfortunately, those affected by this problem have these squad features simply greyed out on the menu so that they can't be selected. They also encounter an error message that says squad data couldn't be retrieved, and that they should try again later.
We've ran into this problem ourselves, and nothing that we've tried seems to fix it. There are a couple of supposed fixes floating around the internet, but they're not exactly convenient. Here's hoping, then, that Capcom squashes the bug in a future patch.

Oh, I was wondering already why it was greyed out for me.
I have made a squad already.
Im having the same issue it seems if u create a new character it works for that one but not the one u used for hours i just hope they fix it its annoying
