Jose Mourinho PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Sour-faced Portuguese football manager Jose Mourinho returned to Manchester United’s team hotel with a PlayStation 4 controller nestled under his arm earlier today, raising all sorts of unnecessary questions ahead of the club’s clash with Burnley this afternoon. Is he looking to let off steam in Bloodborne as the Alexis Sanchez saga drags on – or is this a leaving present for outgoing Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who was allegedly in tears upon being told he was going to Arsenal?

Whatever the case, parody account CEO Kaz Hirai was on the ball as always:

Mourinho is a closet fan of PlayStation, occasionally referring to the console in interviews and press conferences. Earlier in the season, he accused the Red Devils of playing “PlayStation football” despite registering a 3-0 win against Basel in the Champions League. “I don’t like it,” he moaned. “Flicks and tricks.”

Of course, this was an open goal for PlayStation’s social media team, who quipped back:

It’s funny because it’s true.
