PlayStation Christmas What Are You Playing 1

The 200th edition of WAYP has been postponed for a week while we return for our sixth annual Christmas special. The format’s exactly the same, of course, we’ve just added some tinsel to the page. In fact, we haven’t even bothered doing that – you’ll have to use your imagination. Nevertheless, here’s what we’re playing this holiday.

I’m having a topsy-turvy ride with Persona 5 so far. There are times where I really love it, and I do truly believe that there’s some good writing and gameplay in this behemoth JRPG. But I also genuinely feel the title is bloated beyond comprehension, and that really frustrates me. I want to continue soldiering on because I am enjoying the main thrust of the story, but I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to tolerate the title wasting my time.

Wow, it's the weekend before Christmas already? I can't think of a better time to play some games. And by games, I mean Dragon's Dogma, because everyone knows I haven't played enough of that in 2017.

Despite the holiday weekend, there are still a few unlocks I wanna try for in Rainbow Six. I mostly skipped out on the Christmas challenges last year, and I want to rectify that. Plus, being at my parents for Christmas means I actually have enough room to play some of my VR titles I've had on the backburner 'cos I had no room. So I can finally dive into Mortal Blitz, Special Delivery, and on the more recent side, DOOM VFR. And I've only played one episode of the new Life is Strange so far. I've got my work cut out for me!

Since I’m at home alone this holiday season, I thought I’d treat myself to an early Christmas present: I bought myself a PlayStation VR headset (the new upgraded model, even) with Skyrim VR. It’s highly unlikely that I will be doing anything else all weekend, frankly, but on the off chance I get bored in the land of the Nords, there’s a welcome sale on VR titles on the PlayStation Store right now. Needless to say, my weekend is well and truly covered.

It's going to be a busy incoming week full of cheer. I'm heading down to Georgia to visit relatives over the weekend for Christmas, celebrating the holiday again when my family and I get back, and then I'm off to Virginia to hang with some friends next Friday. In the meantime, I'm going to finally play through Star Wars: Battlefront II'scampaign and try to jump back into Horizon: Zero Dawn. Other than that, hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas!

I'm not sure I'll be spending a great deal of time gaming this weekend, as I've left myself a lot to do in preparation for Christmas, but Stardew Valley is definitely at the back of my mind. If I get a spare moment between wrapping gifts, I'll definitely be jumping back into the chilled out farming sim for a spot of plant watering action. I'm sure I'll be playing a couple of other games over the Christmas break too, if I'm lucky. I hope everyone has a great holiday, and a smashing New Year!

First off a happy holidays to everyone reading this. With that said with wrapping gifts, picking up cranky family members at the airport, and preparing a turkey for the holiday feast, I won't get too much time gaming this weekend. If I do it will probably be Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch 'cos hey, if I can't throw a Blue Shell at some annoying family member in real life, I can in game, right? That's what the holidays are all about.
