Capcom's wheeling out a big old collection to celebrate Street Fighter's 30th anniversary. Suitably titled Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, the package will contain a total of 12 classic titles. That's a lot of street fighting.
Okay, deep breath, the collection will include: Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Phew.
Of those 12 titles, four games will feature online play: Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Each title will boast its own online leaderboards, as well as both ranked and casual play. Apparently, "rewind" tech will ensure that input lag is kept to a minimum.
On top of all that, the collection also sports an interactive timeline, a music player, character bios, a sprite viewer, and a huge artwork gallery. As for the price of the package, we're looking at $39.99. 30th Anniversary Collection is due out on May 2018.

They finally announced this, then?
Going to be all over this.
Loved Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. Me and my brother put countless hours into that game.
Could never beat Vega though .
I love street fighter 2 on the sega genesis.sega genesis does what nintendont.word up son
Original Street Fighter! If only Capcom would release a pressure sensitive controller with it for some real button mashing!
Can't wait!
If Capcom can do this, how about a Marvel vs Capcom collection ? That would be amazing .
That's what I get for buying all the PSN collections.
So how does this rewind tech work to reduce input lag then? Tried a quick google search but nothing's come up. I'm a bit dubious that they can retrospectively remove input lag from our wireless joypads and HDTV set ups, but it would be great if it's possible. Is it some form of displaying the gameplay a few frames late, to give the illusion it's more responsive than it actually is?
This is awesome. Though I wish Alpha 2 would have online play since that is a favorite of mine.
Definitely getting it. Alpha 2 and Third Strike alone make it worth it for me.
That price tag makes this a definite buy from me.
OG Street Fighter, well that was unexpected, i thought Capcom had forgot it existed
still Capcom seem to be on the ball of late with this and Mega Man 11
@GravyThief I believe what it means is "Roll back netcode" which has been proven to offer a more stable experience then other methods in the fighting genre.
Bit disappointing that a version of IV isn't in there or the recent Ultra Street Fighter 2 but getting the Alphas is a big bonus. At least it means that my PS4 will have every mainline SF game now.
@adf86 ah thanks, I've never heard of that before, makes for very interesting reading!
@GravyThief A YouTuber called Maximilion Dood had a reaction video about this collection and he mentioned rollback as well, could be worth a look.
I love this. Especially with the Alpha titles included. I thought I'd never play those games again after I stupidly dumped Street Fighter Alpha Anthology for PS2 years ago.
The other games are nice to. As a longtime Street Fighter fan, it's great to experience the separate versions of each game.
This along with the season 3 character reveal were anounced on my birthday yesterday! What an incredible present!
Btw rollback is the same used for sfv and is not bad but also not prefered over GGPO which was used in sf4 as well as skullgirls and maybe a few others.
Sounds pretty good
Not sure what to make of this. Looks like a lot of content, but not sure how they are different enough to want so many variants. I am a bit of a fighting game heathen though, so may just be my lack of knowledge.
