Gran Turismo Sport is getting a four-day demo – and any progress you make during the sample period will carry through to the full game. Scheduled to run from 12:00AM PT on 9th October through 8:00AM PT on 12th October, you’ll be able to earn up to $1MM in-game credits in the demo to transfer into the final product.
“The Gran Turismo Sport demo will give fans an in-depth look at some of the new features, geared to define the future of motorsports for all levels of drivers, from first timers to 20 year veterans of the franchise,” the PlayStation Blog states. “You drive and tune on your own terms, while the new matchmaking system ensures you’re always racing against others of similar abilities.”
You’ll have a few options in the demo: Sport, Campaign, and Arcade. You’ll also find limited access to the new photography feature Scapes and the Custom Livery Editor. By the looks of things you’ll be able to try out three tracks, including Northern Isle and Dragon Trail. You’ll also get to put some of the new single player racing lessons through their paces, too.
PlayStation Plus members will be able to pre-load the demo from 8:00AM PT on 7th October, but everyone will be able to try it out for free. There’s much more information available over on the PlayStation Blog, but we’re really looking forward to testing this out; the beta was great, so we can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the final product.

how big is this demo ?
@TheIronChimp It seemed pretty cool the way it works in the beta. Obviously not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but it's quite a unique take on online multiplayer.
There are basically like a list of events each scheduled to start every 10 minutes or so, and the way it works is you run a qualifying lap, and then it matches you with other people. You get rated based on all sorts of factors, including your etiquette on the track.
'You can also race against a friend offline in the classic 2-player split screen mode.'
YESSS!!
@TheIronChimp I think you'll probably be disappointed then. I will say, though, that the whole Etiquette system is supposed to separate bumper car peeps from everyone else.
I'll give the demo a go, but with F1 2017, Project Cars 2 and Forza 7 all satisfying my racing fix GT Sport isn't high on my to-buy list right now.
I was hoping they'd drop a demo before launch because I never was lucky enough to get into the recent betas. Now they have, I'll definitely give this a spin. GT has been my #1 reason for getting a PlayStation system in the past, except for PS3, I missed that entire generation. Going to be a toss-up between GT Sport and Project Cars 2 about what will be the next racer to live on my PS4.
Awesome!!! I can't wait to see the improvements from the closed Beta.
I know for a lot of people, it isn't the game they want, but it's exactly what I wanted. I want to improve.
Here I was complaining about the lack of demos nowadays and heard my whining and will give us a demo AWESOME!!
Nice, I'll give it a try
Nice that we'll get a demo, will be sure to give it a try but right now I'm leaning more towards Forza 7. It's disappointing how lacking GT Sport seems to be in single player content, though. This used to be the top of the racing genre, now Polyphony has basically just conceded to Turn10. There's no reason if Forza can do great single player that GT can't as well but this series has been dropping massively in quality for a while. 3 was the last one i truly enjoyed.
I'll play it but I still haven't bought a new wheel yet. After hammering GT4 and 5 with my DFP wheel, It doesn't feel right using a pad.
@JAMes-BroWWWn lol it's true though, in the old days we bought a game because of the demo on the demo disc, we had a taste and it left us wanting more but now we watch a trailer and they expect us to give them our hard earned money because the trailer looked "cool".
[insert X Files music here]
Will it come with the mysterious "Damage On" option?
Is $1MM supposed to be one billion or one million in this case? 1 million million is 1 billion, but sometimes I see it (incorrectly imo) as M = 1,000 (roman numeral M for 1,000). Let's be honest, we all know it means million here.... but I'm being pedantic because this stuff annoys me. Why couldn't they just write million? Everyone knows what that means.
Don't get me started on "1,000" vs "1.000".......
Surprised they're bothering releasing a demo it just allows all the people who don't enjoy the series to then create some kind of negative vibe about something or other that doesn't bother the rest of the world , teenage angst about stuff like Digital Foundry ,pop ups , screen tearing or fps. Yawn.
@get2sammyb does the demo have vr?
@ztpayne7 Don’t think so.
