Gran Turismo Sport’s marketing onslaught is starting to ramp up in the UK, and one cool commercial that’s running on social media (and potentially TV as well?) is this nostalgic look back at the brand's evolution. It basically runs through the years to the beat of the franchise’s iconic honk, ending with a quick look at the series' PlayStation 4 debut. Pretty cool, no?

Glad they went with the honk rather than the jazz I preordered the Steelbook Edition from Amazon last week so they can advertise all they want.
Always nice to hear a bit of Woodkid.
Im loathe to buy a game at launch as the prices are eye watering when you have a family to think of but god damn is GT Sport looking amazing and along with FF7 and TR its the game that grabs my nostalgia bollocks and gives them a good twist lol i may have to stump up the cash for this one
It seems there's quite a bit of nostalgia in the commercials where a PS IP is featured. That's not a bad thing, of course. I got instant childhood flashbacks the moment I saw the Beetle in GT3 in that video.

Agreed, I think it's very canny of Sony to include an element of nostalgia in their ads. It is something they have that MS cannot compete with, PlayStation has been a part of my life since I was 17....I remember coming home from the boozer with mates to play Tekken and Wipeout, I can remember playing Gran Turismo with my brother, I can remember my baby daughter watching me play Jak and Daxter and Spiro.
Their commitment to the industry and the amount of games they have brought me over the years is why I buy PlayStation. Even when MS launch their new 'most powerful console in the world', I will remember their lack of support more that the slight improvement in graphics and that's why I don't buy it.
@Lovespuds @DerMeister They've leaned on it a lot this generation, haven't they? I agree it's been quite smart — a lot of people in their mid-late 20s (and beyond) grew up with PlayStation, so it makes sense.

The thing with PS1 that I think about at times is just how big a leap forward it was.
I remember the damage on Destruction Derby, real voice acting on Resi Evil, arcade quality graphics on Tekken, licenced music on Wipe out, fantastic writing on Metal Gear Solid and incredible 3D with Tomb Raider.
I grew up playing Atari before moving up to Commodore 64 and Amiga, these are still my fave systems but, as a 17 - 18 year old I remember feeling that every release on this new Playstation console was setting new standards.
Been playing it for last hour or so and it oozes quality. Thought I experienced a problem before during and online race when all but a few other cars slowed right down but about 18 of us hadn't realised we needed to make a pit stop ! Don't let that one catch you out .
The ironic thing is that this gran turismo i nothing like the previous ones
Nothing wrong with playing off nostalgia (Nintendo does it more than any company) but unfortunately that's all this series has left. It's been on a decline after 3 and Sport seems like it will be rock bottom. A shame because in the PS1 and 2 days Gran Turismo was held in super high regard.
