An announcement that should come as no surprise to anyone, Nioh will be getting a Complete Edition. The final slice of downloadable content for the samurai slasher was revealed recently, so it only makes sense for publisher Koei Tecmo to come out and tell us that it's stuffing the base game and all three of its expansions into one package later this year.
At the time of writing, the Complete Edition has only been confirmed for Japan, where it'll be available from the 7th December. We don't see why it wouldn't come West around the same time, however. Keep your eyes open for inevitable confirmation in the very near future.

I was planning on getting the game soon, saw a good deal for €20, but I guess I'll wait for a bit longer in this case!
This is what I was waiting for.
If you're a fan of the soulsborne genre, then do yourself a favour and get this. Only second to Bloodborne imo.
Best season pass I bought. The expansions/dlc have been fantastic. Really excited for Bloodshed's End.
Really wanted to get into this when I played the demos but I struggled with the different attack stances and the Ki system. Despite that I still have an interest in it cos the setting is cool.
I personally preferred this to the souls series and BB as the combat is much faster. It's still going to make you want to smash things up though
Outstanding game with surprisingly good DLC
I am not a fan of 'Japanese' games in general, don't like the Souls/Borne games either yet there is 'something' about this that interested me. I don't know if its the 'Witcher 3' and some 'similarity' or some other reason. I am not expecting 'Combat' to be the same but I still think this has a more 'western' feel (although I haven't played it myself) than games like Persona, Gravity Rush and Nier.
Its one game that I have considered trying but wasn't willing to 'try' at release. I maybe much more willing to buy and try the Complete Edition.
@SwitchGlitch You bought it day one to play it early or to support the developer
This may not be a popular opinion but I'd love them to add an easy mode
Nice! This is one game I never got around to picking up. I'll keep an eye on this.
@LocalPenguin Practice practice practice! I was downright terrible at Dark Souls and Bloodborne when they came out. Spent about an hour just studying enemy movements, parris, and learning i-frames, and it helped quite a bit.
@RedMageLanakyn "Spent about an hour just studying enemy movements, parris, and learning i-frames, and it helped quite a bit."
Sounds like preparing for a university entrance exam. 😆
@Octane where is this 20 EUR deal?
@manu0 A local retailer had a 2 for 1 sale on a select number of PS4 titles. But if a complete edition comes out later this year, I rather wait for a bit longer.
@LocalPenguin I'm a massive souls fan and I have no issue with them adding an easy mode. Lock most of the trophies to the regular difficulty and let people enjoy the game. It's not taking anything away.
@Johnnycide @RedMageLanakyn Oh I'm not adverse to a challenge, I have the Plat for Souls 1-3 and Bloodborne (not Demons though ) but sometimes I'd just like to just chill with these games.
@LocalPenguin Well if you haven't tried Lords of the Fallen, that's a decent one to chill with if you're a souls veteran.
This game is sweet. I will buy the complete edition as well
@SwitchGlitch If everyone does the same as there will be no more complete editions or games. If a game is great i wont be cheap. I think they should price the complete editions for € 60 plus.
@BAMozzy This gameplay is so much better then the Witcher in every possible way.
@Johnnycide Why would anyone make a fuss about putting in a easy mode. Only a sad bunch of people thats for sure.
The lack of enemy variation in this game stopped me from playing about half way through.
@SwitchGlitch I don't think most developer are rich, maybe you're talking about publisher?
Still, if you want to save money, either buy the game when it's discounted, or buy it day one, finish it quickly and sell it again like I do with short single player game like battlefield 1.
@Flaming_Kaiser Agree, cheapness kill the mobile games market, we go from innovative games made for mobile like angry bird, infinite blade, and superbrothers sword & sorcery to free to play garbage that we have now because nearly all mobile users too cheap to buy games.
If all ps4 users cheap like mobile gamers, all we get on ps4 is free to play and indie games. Hell, just look at pc, pc has no AAA exclusives because most of its audience is cheap and do not spend money on new AAA games.
This is my favourite PS4 game so far.
Im currently playing though this, it's a very deep game, I love it, im about 60 hours in and don't feel like I've really scratched the surface. Im not going to say it's better than bloodborne, but it's as good imo.
This is a game where I had no interest in the DLC, I had a lot of fun up until about half way through which was when, as @Boxmonkey said, the game starts getting repetitive as there is rarely anything new in the game and even entire levels are reused in the name of game length. Definitely an example of why sometimes less is more for me.
Nice! Been wanting to get this for a while now but an all-inclusive version would be great.
@Flaming_Kaiser That depends on what you like though. I thought the Witcher 3 game-play was great but the Story, the world and its characters, some I have known for a few years now since the Witcher 2, etc all help to make this game one of, if not the best Game of this Era for me. You can argue all you want about 'game-play and which has the deeper or more complex combat for example but that's only a part of a 'game' for me.
If you look at the game-play of Uncharted for example - just the 'game-play', its competent and well made but its not exactly the best - a bit of cover shooting and a bit of platforming and simple puzzles. U4 added a bit more stealth into it if you wanted but each of the game-play mechanics, whilst solid, are not necessarily the best. Ultimately its the story, the characters, the environments etc that make the game something 'special.
A game can have better 'game-play' but if the story, the characters etc are poor, the game can fall flat - at least for me. Being driven to find out what happens next in the story etc is more important than just moving onto the 'next' area to kill more enemies - even if the combat itself is 'better' or more complex/deeper.
Whilst I can appreciate the 'combat' of something like Dark Souls, I don't have any desire to keep pushing forward, coming up against increasingly difficult enemies that the only real incentive to beat is so I can move on to the next and then the next etc.
I couldn't care less if Nioh is more 'Dark Souls' in its combat as I would prefer more 'Witcher 3' in its story, characters etc.
Glad I waited then. Why cant this have a normal demo?
Inevitable confirmation gets my inevitable purchase!
@SwitchGlitch Same here, though I take it a step further and wait 1-2 years for the GOTY/Complete Edition to permadrop down to $20-$30 New or cheaper.
@wiiware I agree that people should always try and support the developers, but sadly I will never be able to afford $60 games at launch.
This is why I wait 1-2 years for the games to permadrop down in price to $20-$30 New or cheaper.
@SwitchGlitch Yeah, senua sacrifice is great, I think it will set the standard on indie games price, with $30 we can get full AAA experience like uncharted (without multiplayer) or tomb raider.
It will be better if publisher know not all AAA games have to be sold at $60, it's better to sold a lot of games at $40 like ratchet and clank ps4 compared to a $60 games that will be discounted heavily 1-2 month later, I think some games like the order will be received better if it's $40 (since it's short and doesn't have multiplayer).
Fantastic game. If you don't already have it, this is a great reason to jump in. I need to get the DLC.
@wiiware @SwitchGlitch Agreed 100% regarding the notion of games being $30-$40 at launch. If all AAA games were like that, I could afford to pre-order games from Amazon etc.
Until that happens though, I shall continue to wait 1-2 years or more for the prices to permadrop down to $20-$30 New or cheaper.
I am a very patient person and I always have a huge backlog of older games I haven't played or completed story/plot wise to keep me busy/distracted.
