Need for Speed: Payback’s flashy Fortune City will be the largest open world in the franchise’s history. The glitzy adaptation of Las Vegas will become your proving grounds in Ghost Games’ latest, as you go in search of abandoned vehicles and enter into events against racing crews with different attributes.
It’s looking good so far, but we’ll reserve judgement until the full release. We really didn’t like the open world in the last Need for Speed game – it looked pretty but lacked any personality. Hopefully this one is a bit more interesting, because scale alone is not going to cut it at all.

Genuinely the only game I'm excited about with a release date at the moment. Enjoyed the last one and looks like they're improving on it this time round
Yeah, touting it as the biggest in franchise history doesn't really mean much. I really hope this turns out well, because I'd love a great arcade racer for PS4. There are not nearly of them this generation.
The only question I have with such a large open world is will there be towers and how will I climb them as a car?
@Quintumply totally agree. I like racing sims but I feel like there are quite a few this generation but not enough pick up and play arcade racers. I still miss burnout
@zimbogamer Danger Zone does a good job of replicating Crash mode, but yeah, I would absolutely love to see a proper, brand new Burnout.
Still not entirely convinced by this - one of the reasons it hasn't yet made my 'pre-order' list and with 6 games coming out 7 weeks already pre-ordered, its most likely to be a game I pick up in the new year (if at all). It has potential - although reminded me a bit of Forza Horizon and Burnout (with the slo-mo take downs) - but not enough to warrant pre-ordering. Its already an expensive few weeks and I should have a lot of games in my backlog so I can happily wait to see how it reviews and decide if and when to buy then
Have they added wheel support this time? G29 in particular.
I wonder if this latest NFS: Money for old rope (or whatever they've called it) will have wheel support on PS4 this time? The last NFS did, but only on P.C.
Also, I hope that they're not going to force that stupid 3rd person, Mario Kart, view on players again?
well, I like that Drags, Drift and classics Races (rally and hot pursuit) return, and well, the open world really, really is awesome (and interesting if there are traffic of that density), however, still it doesn't convence me when in the first trailer I see a story mode some "exagerate" (style NFS the run), that, for me, I don't like in racing games, but, well, that is my thinking, and I don't say that the game is not good, simply, It doesn't catches me..., for now...
