"How do you unlock sparrows in Destiny 2?" seems to be a common question among those playing Bungie's shooter sequel. Unlike the first game, sparrows -- which are basically space motorbikes that you can ride around the game's open environments -- aren't gifted to you as you play through the campaign, so don't worry if you think you might be missing out.

***Slight spoilers follow below***

How to unlock your first sparrow in Destiny 2

There are two ways to unlock your first sparrow in Destiny 2: either complete the main campaign, or reach level 20.

The first method is the most straightforward. Simply finish up the main story missions and you'll be able to collect one from Amanda Holliday. She can be found in the game's second social space.

Meanwhile, reaching level 20 means that bright engrams have a chance to decrypt into a sparrow. You obtain one bright engram every time that you level up past level 20. Obviously, this method of nabbing a sparrow isn't guaranteed -- you'll need a bit of luck if you want to find one before finishing the campaign.
