Well, we told you it was going to happen, didn’t we? PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds' runaway success has already prompted a string of copycats, and hot on the heels of Grand Theft Auto Online is Fortnite with its own Battle Royale mode. Set to launch officially on 26th September and currently in public testing, the new playlist will see you battling and building against 100 other players online. The last man standing wins.

To be fair to Epic Games, it’s not trying to hide anything here: it even cites the success of titles like PUBG and H1Z1 as the reason for this mode’s existence. The developer will be reducing the price of Founder’s Packs by 25 per cent starting 12th September through 18th September, so there’s never been a better time to jump in – we just can’t help but wonder whether the game’s managed to establish a large enough community to make something like this work properly.
