Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier was apparently announced at the New York Comic-Con last year, but we suspect this is the first you’ll be hearing of the PlayStation 4 title, which is set between the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes movies. In production at Andy Serkis’ motion capture studio Imaginati Studios and FoxNext Games, the title promises to deliver a narrative-heavy experience, perhaps best compared to a Telltale title.
The story will focus on a group of apes who assume refuge in the Rocky Mountains during the human-ape conflict. However, as winter arrives and food supplies dwindle, they’re forced to move into human territory, prompting inevitable conflict. Interestingly, you’ll play as characters from both sides of the war, and any decisions you make will have consequences for all involved. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? The game’s due out later this year.

Interested to see what the gameplay is like for this but like most was surprised by how good the trailer looks.
Or if you live in the US walk outside your door
@andrew20 Fo real though.
This would be an automatic buy if it starred Troy McClure.
@sr_388 ... Could not agree more. It also needs to be a musical.
As a fan of the recent movies, Rise, Dawn and War, I would love for this to be good and succeed but in my opinion from the gameplay and trailer i've seen it looks like it won't be very enjoyable, and what's up with the fur/hair on the apes? The only game based on a movie that I remember having decent review scores was Peter Jackson's king kong 2005 and kong had more realistic fur/hair on the xbox360 version.
@Nesstark88 X Men Origins Wolverine was an excellent film tie in - better than the film actually
I was hoping it would be an open world where you control the apes, that would be very cool...not so interested in a narrative heavy experience, I'm getting quite tired of those
@AFCC I was hoping the same... I wanna throw my poop at people, steal children and hold them for a million banana ransom and pee in my mouth for health, epic.
Not interested. I hate every Ape I see, from chimpan-A to chimpan-Z.
@1eyedlink One can only dream...
