Agents of Mayhem PS4 PlayStation 4 1

The football season is underway, the release calendar is stacked, and we're knee-deep into August – it all means that the business end of the year is imminent. Of course, that gives us plenty of opportunity to natter in your weekly WAYP, so let's get into Issue 181.

The start of the football season has convinced me to pick up my first FIFA in a few seasons, so I'm making do with outdated rosters in the discounted FIFA 17. To be honest, I've been faffing around a lot in Ultimate Team which I'm worried may be getting its claws into me. I wouldn't mind, but I'm spending more time navigating menus than actually playing the game.

This weekend, I'll be spending a large portion of my time playing Agents of Mayhem ahead of writing the review. Should I need a break from the tearing things up in Volition's Saints Row spin-off, I'll be squabbling with the rest of the SMITE community over who gets to play Artio, the latest overpowered goddess to be added to the MOBA.

Having caught up on my backlog has been a really weird feeling. To make up for it I've just been playing Rainbow Six: Siege daily. But luckily I've got a few new games to play. I picked up the Lovecraftian sacrifice simulator The Shrouded Isle on Steam, and I grabbed Hellblade for the PS4, 'cos the game just has me too curious to not play it.

I’m half way through Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age right now, and I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. The only problem? Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice awaits, and I’m fighting back the desire to start it up!

This weekend I'll be spending many hours on public transport, so I'll be bringing along my Vita and playing some NORN9! I've only done two routes, so I have a whole lot to keep me occupied on my travels!

It'll be Alien: Isolation for me this weekend, interspersing the time between the new Premier League matches with some horror that still doesn't match the dread I feel when Liverpool face Watford away. Still, while the latter has James Milner as its salvation, Alien: Isolation is sadly lacking a reliable but boring midfielder.

My weekend is sure to go quickly – I'm spin dashing, ring collecting, and emerald chasing my way through Sonic Mania for review. You'll be able to read my thoughts on the pixelated platformer very soon.

It's summertime and that means the Summer Games event in Overwatch. Throw in some Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 and Bayonetta and that sounds like a good weekend to me.

We're out of gas so it's all over to you. What are you playing this weekend? You know the drill – we'll see you in the comments section below.
