PlayStation 4 port of PlayStation 3 remaster of Nintendo 3DS ex-exclusive Resident Evil Revelations will board Sony’s new-gen system on 29th August for $19.99. The game – which is being billed as a kind of definitive version of the survival horror shooter – will boast 1080p visuals, and will bundle in all downloadable content.

Here’s the story synopsis: “Chris Redfield goes missing in action during a mission, forcing the BSAA to dispatch Jill Valentine on a search-and-rescue operation. She arrives at her target location to find an extravagant cruise liner floating in the middle of the ocean. Jill makes her way through winding corridors filled with perilous traps and horrifying creatures, and soon finds that she has only just scratched the surface of a horrifying conspiracy.”

We thought this game was fine on the PS3, but its portable origins were peeking through even in 2013, so we’re not sure how well it’ll hold up on the PS4 four years later. “It sits somewhere above mediocrity, delivering an occasionally tense survival action experience that’s undone by its overwhelming predictability,” we wrote. “There are some neat moments on offer, and the Raid mode is a surprisingly enjoyable addition, but it’s a largely forgetful title, lost in a sea of much more memorable adventures.”
