The Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age party is winding down now, with Square Enix's latest role-playing mega hit settling at 22,600 sales on PlayStation 4. As such, we're now looking at another not-so-exciting period when it comes to Sony's console in Japan.
Speaking of which, the machine itself has dropped off the top of the charts, shifting 20,433 units. It's probably going to sit around there for a while, at least until the next big release comes along. Still, it'll be interesting to see how long the aforementioned Dragon Quest XI can last in the top 20.

Expected for Dragon Quest XI. It has already sold well over 3 million games across the two platforms (digital included), so it will start to slow down.
This is the lowest MH ever sold on release but hey it adds to XX's sales I suppose
May not be beneficial to Capcom as much but Nintendo oh it beneficial
Btw reason is there's a cheaper option on 3DS and World... prob killed all hype for MHXX... plus Capcom overmilked MH just like they did Mega Man.
@MadAussieBloke franchise establishment man...
@MadAussieBloke Now look at the UK charts
Monhun number is not good, no wonder capcom is prioritizing ps4+pc+xbox, monhun need to evolve beyond ninty platform.
Can't wait for monhun world next year, I hope it has great single player content
@wiiware that's because it's the exact same game if this was a new MH then yea it'd sell more
@MadAussieBloke Dude you have to respect how they view great gaming. Tbh, sometimes they wonder how could we like the games that we like. Just like I'm a big fan of Sony, I will always be a big of Nintendo(can't say the same about Microsoft because I haven't been one since the original Xbox back in 2002).
The hype is dead in japan yes as for the rest of the world it hasn't even gotten started
@KingofSaiyanZ no it's cus it's LITERALLY a port...
@Derpie1 Combined numbers for Switch and 3DS are still pretty low. So I can def see @wiiware 's point about going multiplatform.
Switch in general is on fire though. Looks like Nintendo made the right choices.
@Kidfried well you gotta think there's not much new
If it was say a new standalone Switch MH (doesn't have to be World) it can even be a remake of a prev MH then the sales would be different plus in Japan it's going to PlayStation only and while graphically that's cool you know Japan and portability go hand in hand...
Yes Capcom is reliant on the West but we dunno heck if Capcom releases it right next to say God of War PS4
Yup the overshadowing will be real...
