One thing’s for sure: EA Games is taking this Star Wars Battlefront 2 single player thing seriously. It’s working with LucasFilm to create a campaign that actually bridges the gap between movies, and this behind-the-scenes look at the story mode – featuring interviews with actors, actresses, and writers – illustrates how important the brand new plot is to the package. The question is: will it deliver? We’ll find out on 17th November, when the sequel’s scheduled to stage a bombing run on the PlayStation 4.

i suppose the fact it's meant to be canon to the series means they will be putting extra care into it
@FullbringIchigo Just like they did with the prequels.
(I couldn't resist)
Wow. So negative. I think it looks great. May the force be with it.
@ShogunRok the prequels aint as bad as people make out, all of the things they complain about, annoying characters, bad dialogue and dumb events are in the original trilogy as well, they just refuse to accept that the prequels showed these films they have held on a pedestal for over 30 years are not the masterpieces they believed they were
the OT are still better films overall though
now i think i might need to put these up
It would need to be exceptional for me to get into this after the content free last game!
@Elodin They're focusing on the negative - they should be mindful of their thoughts.
@FullbringIchigo I agree. I watched the original trilogy AFTER seeing the prequels and I couldn't help but laugh at the cheesiness of it all. Amazing how bad something can be when you're not wearing nostalgia goggles.
The campaign looks to have potential - but then so did BF1's campaign that faded rapidly after the opening mission and was over within a few hours.
I do like the angle they are tackling, the view from the 'dark side' directly after Episode 6: Return of the Jedi. I liked the look of the MP, the changes made after the previous Battlefront from DICE. It looks to have more depth and variety. It could become my go to FPS MP but I still have some 'concerns' over the SP - its not like they have a good track record of late - and also how they are handling Micro Transactions as that appears 'pay to win'
@FullbringIchigo
Nothing in the original trilogy is as wooden, cheesy and cringe worthy as Attack of the Clones. And even if there was, it did not take the whole movie.
A villain centered campaign is very interesting.
@sinalefa "A villain centered campaign is very interesting"
yeah it as long as you stay the villain & not do a Force Unleashed and have you switch sides part way through
also yeah AotC was probably the worse of the series but the OT did have wooded acting, Mark Hamill in A new Hope was wooden through nearly the whole film as for cheesy lines RotJ "I can bring him back...to the good side" is as cheesy as as "I Hate Sand" and the whole Ewok thing is still dumb, the Imperial army had walking tanks, lasers and body armour but was taken out by rocks and sticks wielded by teddy bears
i love the OT but i can also see there are things wrong with it just like the prequels, i just find it strange how "fans" will pick apart every problem the Prequels have but not say a thing about the same things in the OT
@BAMozzy - DICE isn't making the single player campaign, it's being developed by motive studios. Studio was set up jade raymond who used to work at ubisoft, I think Battlefront 2 is actually their first project.
@leucocyte Doesn't matter who is making it, doesn't mean it will be a 'lengthy' and engaging story. It does show promise but since BFBC2, I can't think of a decent campaign - and its only been 2yrs since the first Battlefront launched. Is that indicative of enough time to deliver a meaningful Single player game rather than some 'tacked' on effort that looks good in trailers but is over in a few hours and all the best bits are in the trailers?
I don't care about the story !
As long as the single player gameplay is good im in.
No matter what people think, EA has delivered some of the most convincing and touching single player campaigns. Publishing at least. Mass Effect and Dead Space come to mind.
@ToniK And yet they've also ruined said franchises by shoehorning unnecessary multiplayer and catering for a wider audience (pew pew crowd). Remember ME3 being marketed as 'now is the perfect time to jump in'?
@BAMozzy ah, when you said 'its not like they have a good track record of late', i assumed you were talking about DICE, because in my opinion, it's a pretty accurate assessment of everything after bad company 2. motive has no track record to go on, but given it's not a huge studio at present, unless it's done a lot of outsourcing, i doubt it's going to be an epically long campaign. 2 two years used to be sufficient to make an entire game.. depends whether they've actually had two years to make the game, or whether after furore over the last game, EA have gone 'here, for a sequel, we need some single player campaign quick' and they've only properly started 15-16 months ago..
@FullbringIchigo
I get your points and I agree. All movies have issues and imconsistencies.
