German channel Inside PlayStation's got a little more pre-release footage for you to feast your eyes on, this time from WipEout Omega Collection. This was playable at a recent convention so it does appear that Sony's plumped up for one of the title's slower speeds to make the experience more comfortable for attendees – but that allows us to appreciate the track-side detail all the more.
And despite being a remaster, it really is quite staggering just how much is packed into each frame of this racer – especially in 4K on the PS4 Pro. Consider that, after a few hours with the game, you're going to be zipping past all of this intricate scenery at stupid speeds and it's all the more impressive. We wonder if there's a photo mode in the final version at all?

The game looks brilliant and has timed very well, its definitely a day one for me loved these games.

That's not even a dig, that's just how the industry works.

It is looking good for a remaster, bright and colourful but the crowds are very 'flat' - not that you would notice when zooming past but I am sure that if Photo mode was introduced, it would show up some of the weaknesses - the fact that the crowds are just flat. Its not a criticism, its no point having even 'basic' character models, even if just for the front row, to fill a stand that as you zoom past are nothing more than a blur. Its not an effective use of resources.
Look at 0.53-0.55 for example to see how crowds are done... May need to pause the video...
I'm ashamed I bought every re-release rip-off of Wipeout.

It would be awesome if they did. Formula Fusion has quite an extensive one from what I recall.
Omega Collection is looking excellent. I know it's just a remaster, but it's probably one of the games I'm most excited for right now.
It really is looking wonderful, but I do wish it was a new game rather than a remaster. As a result I'm finding myself a little more excited for the likes of Redout and Grip. Will probably get this too though!
I....want to like this, I really do.
But these games are just way, way to fast for me, I always bump into anything you can bump into.
Here's hoping Grip gets a PS4 release, that I can handle.
This is great! I've been yearning for an arcade racer on ps4!
So want this. I have every iteration of Wipeout since PS1. I hope this is a success to make Sony take note and consider a 'proper' sequel. Still I am looking forward to playing this in glorious 4K (don't care if it's checkerboard) and 60FPS.
Still no info on steelbook edition. No one is stocking it yet for pre-order.
Wipeout Looks great no doubt, but i think part of the taking PS Pro seriously as referenced in another article, is stopping the neccesity to bang on about the graphics, as after all it should be expected that a game programmed for more umph on a pro should look better in 4k
However thats more to do with the developers and press releases than journos just doing their job.
Anyway, for what its worth @get2sammyb , you guys do a cracking job, keep it up!

Nice I haven't played a fast paced racer since wipeout on ps vita. .. and before that fzero. Looking forward to this one!

@VotesForCows ya back in the day is what I meant lol the recent sanic titles have not been my favorite but I give them credit for trying something different at least... I still play sanic on my gba every now and then, I think sanic advance was my favorite of them all, if you habent tried those it's great for on the go and will bring back the GOOD memories (;
@get2sammyb Not every comment needs to be answered. I didn't like your reply to @manu0, but I was also okay with the headline. The headline was something that made someone like me who doesn't care much about WipEout but has a PS4 Pro, check the article, and that's something good in my opinion.
The visuals were great btw.
