Remember when the Xbox One was revealed and Microsoft spent more time showing how you could snap Family Fortunes to the side of your screen than actually showing games? Sony was watching, as it's announced a new multi-view feature for the aptly named cord-cutting service PlayStation Vue, which will allow you to observe several different shows at once.
Obviously, nobody's going to watch Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad concurrently, but this may be helpful for sports programming where you want to watch two or three games at once. The feature's available today on the PlayStation 4, and you can learn a little more about how it all works over on the PlayStation Blog.

@KratosMD Legendary.
The only difference between this and what MS did, was Sony hid this behind games instead of making it an all in one DRM filled machine that the One was pushed as. Except the PS4 still is that, just done better from a marketing point.
Games first. Extras and the BS second.
I use my PS4 to play games. I use my smart TV for everything else.
Man, I really do like the concept of Playstation vue. But unfortunately my only Internet provider I can get here in the states where I live restricts us to a data cap. Watching HD anything crushes thru my data and then I get charged. Netflix is cool because I can at least set the streaming quality to low. But nothing else offers such an option, Amazon prime, Hulu, and certainly vue I'm sure. It sucks. Sorry to vent on a post, I just get so irked by being backed into a corner when so many awesome options are available.
Wasn't this out years?
And like Now, I doubt it'll ever be available in Ireland so, no interest here.
If I watched alot of tv I would get the Vue over any other cable or satellite service, but as it is I don't watch enough tv to justify the monthly fee.
I will say though that my mother really enjoys it. She couldn't afford the high prices of DirecTV so she got rid of it. However she missed having channels like HGTV, USA and a few others so she decided to try it. $40 a month is alot better then $200.
if i didn't watch all my stuff on catch up, netflix, prime or dvd/blu-ray this would be great news, live TV in the UK is pretty crap now a days
also if it actually launched in the UK too that would help
Is it free? I'm not really inerested but its cool if you watch tv, I don't but the family does. I would prefer console's to be for gaming only but they seem insistant on trying to make console's more like PC's with all the app's, film renting and TV they have going on, i've never used my Ps4 for anything other than gaming and music. We have the full Sky package anyway in every bedroom, the WoW film is available on Sky Cinema from the 10th of march anyway at no extra cost so they are pretty good.
Haha that X1reveal was amazing. In all the wrong ways.
No wonder Don Mattrick ended up "leaving" MS soon after...
@xMEADx You have to pay for PlayStation Vue if that's what you're asking, but like @Tasuki says, it's a cheaper option than cable depending on which channels you want.
Having said that, I'm not really the best person to ask as we don't have this in the UK. Maybe an American member can better explain how it all works?
If they can get a way for me to watch shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia legally, without waiting for Netflix, I'd be in. As is, UK consumers are taking a long ride on Mac's bike.....
I personally think it's overpriced.
PSVue has been the lesser of two evils when compared to Sling, but it needs a lot of work. Lots of loading issues, some channels will randomly say I don't have permission to watch them, but then work the next day, clunky navigation, etc.
Again, it's better than Sling, but not by much. I certainly hope it gets better.
@THRILLHOU One of the best comedy shows going, right up there with Curb and Arrested Development.
@xMEADx It's not free they have a $30 package, a 40 and a 50 I think it is. A variety of devices use PS VUE. Including Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Android has an app for it too and I think so does iOS. So you don't have to use your PS4 for that. My mother uses her Roku.
@Tasuki You can't beat those price's i'll be checking it out i'd be stupid not to. Sky cost's a hell of a lot more than that, it is a bit of a rip off.
This is a feature for weirdos, although watching Teletubbies whilst playing Dark Souls may appeal.
@xMEADx I believe there is a free 7 day trail offer. Both my mother and I tried it for the 7 days and we both loved it. She then went and the $40 package I believe. As I said before I would have too, but I don't watch that much tv to begin with. So she went from spending $200 a month on DirecTV to just $40 and gets all the channels she wanted.
Also a nice bonus too is if you have PS VUE it counts as an cable/satellite subscription so for apps like ESPN to stream stuff to your phone you can use as well.
